General Server Information
The Forgotten Realms Cormyr module went live as a persistent world in 2004 and has been in continual development since. FRC offers 650 areas in game including 100 dungeons. The module portrays the Forgotten Realms Kingdom of Cormyr from the Tun Marshlands to the Hullack Forest, from the northern shore of the Lake of Dragons to Castle Crag with room to expand for more. FRC's Regions include the Cormyrian Heartlands, Dragonmere Coast, the Farsea Swamp, the Hullack Forest, the King's Forest, the Stonelands, the Stormhorn Mountains, the Tun Marsh, the Wyvernwater, and the Underdark beneath - all waiting to be explored. The classic landmarks of Cormyr such as Suzail, Marsember, Arabel, Immersea, Eveningstar, Waymoot, Espar, the High Horn, Castle Crag, Dhedluk, Tyrluk, and Thunderstone are all represented.
On FRC Player Characters can march with the Purple Dragons, join a remnant society of elves who withstood the Retreat and welcome the Return, or be adopted by a resolute dwarven clan. A druid circle awaits hidden away in the forest, a cult of necromancers practice their magic on Cormyr's honored dead, and a Church of Bane seeks opportunities to seize power. FRC Players can watch the balance of power with the Harpers, fleece the factions for a thieves' guild, or join in the political intrigues of a contentious city with a history of rebellion. In FRC one can become a wealthy merchant, a skilled craftsman, an honored knight, or a dangerous outlaw.
What will be the story of your character?
Haks used by FRC
Historically Forgotten Realms Cormyr has limited its use of haks to the Community Expansion Pack (CEP) to offer ease of entry for new players. FRC will maintain use of CEP at the conversion point to Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition and take advantage of new features to introduce a new FRC Custom Hak while still maintaining ease of entry.
The FRC Custom Hak will be minimal at first but will expand over time as the FRC Staff judiciously add more custom content.
All Hak and Tlk files in use by FRC will be automagically downloaded and installed for you when logging into FRC in game. This is handled by the server through NWSync.
Module Updates
The FRC Module undergoes updates frequently. A list of updates is maintained here.

Time Moves!
In game events during FRC's first six years are considered to have taken place in 1372 and 1373 DR. Beginning in 2010, the FRC calendar began to move forward month by month, year by year with the real world calendar. January 2010 became Hammer 1374 in game. At the time of this writing in December 2018 the date in the Forgotten Realms Cormyr Calendar is Nightal 1382, Year of the Black Blazon.
In January 2019 the FRC Calendar will advance to Hammer 1383, the Year of the Vindicated Warrior. More information about the FRC calendar in game may be found here.
frc.proboards.com/thread/11716/time-moves-2018-hammer-1382
Resting on FRC
FRC has a resting system in place. There is a 40 minute waiting period between resting. Player Characters must be near a restful object to rest, such as an inn room bed or something characters may carry with them such as a consumable camping supply kit or a reusable tent. After resting characters have a penalty applied to their stats to represent hunger. After eating food a character should be rested, fed, and good to go!
Death and Dying
The life of adventurers is hazardous and some challenges may kill them outright including certain spells, effects, or being brought to -10 hit points or below. When a player character is brought between 0 and -9 hit points they fall unconscious and lay dying. While dying the character will lose one hit point per round until they reach -10 and die, stabilize and recover, or are healed. A dying character has a 10% chance to stabilize per round. If a dying character stabilizes they will gain one hit point each round and become conscious again once they have greater than 0 hit points.
Should your character die and have no surviving party members committed to a rescue, the character must Respawn. Don't linger while dead in the hope that someone will wander by and come to the rescue.
Should a character die and respawn, FRC applies a death penalty of 100 XP per level and 10% of gold carried by the character. In addition the respawning character will be sent to the Fugue Plane. Characters in the Fugue Plane must find a way out to return to the land of the living on the Prime Material Plane.
Respawning characters will have fatigue, represented by lowered physical attributes. The fatigue will fade after a period of 5 minutes real-time or after resting.
Keep in mind that returning from the dead, whether killed in PVP or while adventuring, is a miracle of the gods and should be role-played accordingly. Returning from the dead is a major event in any character's story and should not be taken lightly.
There is no forced Permanent Death (Permadeath) or retirement policy on FRC. A DM, player, or character cannot force your character to accept permadeath. Permadeath or retirement can only by the decision of the character's player.
However if a player should lose their playing privileges on FRC their characters will of course disappear.
Banking and Commerce
Adventurers accumulate wealth over time through their adventures. While the Neverwinter Nights engine will allow a character to carry an infinite amount of gold on their person it is not practical in character to do so. There may be hazards for doing so, when one respawns for example.
FRC offers a banking system where one may deposit loose gold and be given a note or valuable bullion in exchange to reflect the deposit. Later when a character wishes to invest in a new item they may return to the back and withdraw their deposit by cashing in the bank note or bullion in order to do business with the NPC merchant.
The bank will also exchange foreign coins found while adventuring into gold for use with NPC merchants.
Persistent Storage
The FRC Banking System now offers Persistent Storage. Player characters may purchase a personal storage vault at any bank location. This vault may then be accessed at any bank location at any time for a fee. The personal storage vault will hold up to 300 items. Note that Plot Items may not be stored in vaults currently, with the exception of bank notes, gold bars, and platinum bars.
The contents of the storage vault are held in a server side database. This database will be backed up periodically, usually during future server updates.
Warning! Items deposited in the vault are stored at your own risk. If something should happen to the data the most recent backup will be restored. Any items lost will not be replaced by the FRC Staff. That said we'll do our best to maintain the database and backup periodically.

Bard
Summon Creature I through VI spells summon creatures as if cast one spell level higher.
Druid
- Items are available in game for druids to use when casting Bull's Strength to change the result to Cat's Grace or Endurance to better reflect D&D 3.0/3.5 Druid Spells.
- An item may be found in game for druids to use when casting Call Lightening to change the result to a Darkfire effect granting electric damage.
- An item may be found in game for druids to use when casting Healing Sting to change the result to a Vampiric Weapon effect that scales with druid class level.
- Upon reaching Druid Level 10(not combine druid/shifter), players of Druid Characters may ask a DM ( DM Flash , Penguin , DM Hawk ) to consider their roleplay effort and determine whether a special shape reward has been earned. The roleplay reward comes in the form of three rings granting unique forms for stealth, detection, and travel. These forms are non combat forms and can be used as many times per day that their wild shape feat allows.
Paladin
Upon reaching Paladin Level 5 the character may gain a special warhorse as his Paladin Mount at no cost by visiting the horse merchant in Tyrluk.
Palemaster
Summon Undead and Summon Greater Undead feats summon creatures that are slightly stronger, advance earlier, and have a longer duration when compared to undead creatures summoned by spells.
Ranger
Summon Creature I through IV spells summon creatures as if cast two spell levels higher.
Shadowdancer
FRC has modified the Hide in Plain Sight (HIPS) feat to prevent abuse, encourage continued advancement in the Shadowdancer class, and allow Shadowdancers to make use of normal stealth and HIPS separately. The standard HIPS feat has been disabled and activating Stealth Mode will function normally as it would for a Rogue. The Talk Channel Chat Command /hips will activate HIPS for a Shadowdancer and can be added as a Custom Text Macro on the Quickbar for convenient use. A cool down duration has been added to the HIPS ability according to Shadowdancer Class Level as follows:
Level 1 45 Seconds
Level 2 22.5 Seconds
Level 3 15 Seconds
Level 4 12.25 Seconds
Level 5 9 Seconds

Once you complete the dialog you will be booted from the game and your character will be deleted. Be sure to shut the game all the way down before logging back in on another character.
