Hail Cormyrians!
FRC has rolled out a Placeable Items system where players can purchase items that can be used to spawn placeables.
This little tutorial demonstrates the basic use of these items.
Placeable Items have a note to indicate that the item can be placed.
Using the item's unique power will allow the player to indicate the spot where the item should be placed.
Using the power will remove the item from inventory and create a placeable at the targeted the spot.
Interacting with the placeable will open a dialog with the options shown. Picking up the item will remove the placeable from the ground and return it as an Placeable Item to inventory.
Multiple item placeables can be used together to create a setting. Each item has a parameter to make sure there is enough space between placed items to allow movement. Individual items have different parameters so a little practice will help develop an eye for distances. As tables have a wider spacing requirement, it's usually a good idea to place tables first, then chairs, then other items that can be placed closer.
Item Placeables that can be used for seating provide an additional option in the dialog.
Keeping the dialog open while sitting will allow the placeable to be rotated while the character is seated.
Some Placeable Items can be equipped. These will need to be equipped before they can be used.
Some Placeable Items can be painted. The paint brush and palette items can be used to paint on signs, painting canvas, and trophies similarly to writing on paper through our writing system.
The title and description painted on the Item will carry over once the placeable is spawned.
Painting can continue once the item is placed as well, until the finish command is used.
Finally, Placeable Items that don't block movement like carpet can be placed closer to other placed items. Place them last to complete the setting - and have fun!
Once placed, Placeable Items can be picked up by other characters or destroyed - even out from under you. Watch out!
Poofing - Placeable Items are not intended to be used in combat against monsters in dungeons or in PVP. If combat occurs near these placeables, they will convert back to items on the ground so that the movement of combatants is not impacted.
Initially 70+ Placeable Items have been introduced in game, waiting to be found -
