PS: As for me, "nwn ee" has very small chances to survive as separate product. So realistically, this wont be a long issue if its one even at all. OK, I have ordered it. If it is really so good as you belive, I will be glad...

Well it is still in beta. You really just need to by the basic ee if you already have the diamond edition. It seems glitch free in playing the modules. Cep modules seem to have no problem. The kinks are pw's who use one or more of the following options CEP + Q, cep + custom haks and NWNX. Many people are waiting until it is out of beta and available on Steam. Almost all of that should be compatible already, in terms of NWNx, it's solely available to Linux servers atm as that is what Liareth and those she's working with in their free time are working on currently but it's likely someone will port that support over to Windows servers eventually (though Windows server support of NWNx has always been significantly behind linuxs). The biggest issue is going to be with servers that have a customized NWN.exe file to access features that aren't native to the game and those that have heavily customized the NWNserver.exe over the years to add new features (there aren't many of these, I can only think of three and only one has enough changes done to cause them to really pause). I'm personally looking forward to playing through the recently updated Aielund Saga (I'm so happy that NWN:EE brought back it's creator for a touch up) in 4k when I have time for it. FM.

You bought the regular or the enhanced? Yes the custom content is the main obstacle and it affects many places.

Note beforehand. I haven’t had time to read the above posts.
This however looks great. The think about steam is that they will open a workshop that allows for a very quick click and download for any modules the server wants to use. It will bring back community chat and much more.
I’m wondering what the plans are for this server. Would we transition over?

I’m wondering what the plans are for this server. Would we transition over? The announcement is actually the main reason I reinstalled NWN and FRC, as well as my real life being somewhat more sedate at the moment.I come from the old school where downloading modules used to mean scouring several different websites, using different programs, and having to check compatibility backwards and forwards.I still use sites like moddb but when Steam started the Workshop feature and dozens of my favorite modders across various games began updating their mods to be installed through the workshop it was a life-changer. I'll be thrilled to have that same ease of access with NWN.

Do not work yet under Linux... It tried to download something, but can not... It is very bad for beta.
Of course, program is launched from standard user account, not from root.
PC is in home LAN (NAT) behind firewall, but all standard parts are opened.
Also, it would be more convenient to do not mix in program starter full list of products. I think, nobody will order few products together to play all games simultaneously...
Ok, I will wait and see later...

Is anybody tried to run it?
I still can not connect. The application is started and tries to download something, but can not and waiting forever.
Betta is 6 months old.
Bug report tool on site is not looks as standard bugzilla. It is something special.
By lack of time to learn it, I did not open ticket yet. Maybe, I will try again this weekend.

I'm able to run it (Digital Deluxe version Head Start under Windows 10). You might want to try their Tech Support forum... include your OS, version, and the problem you're seeing, including any messages. They might still tell you to file a bug report, or someone might know the problem you're having. forums.beamdog.com/categories/nwn-technical-support

Follow the steps in this post on the Beamdog forum carefully. forums.beamdog.com/discussion/66994/installing-playing-the-head-start-version-of-nwn-ee/p1 starting with step one and two to make sure your account has been provisioned correctly (it's been a minor issue) and ending with step 4 to switch from English full release to English - Head Start or Digital Deluxe - Head Start. I hope this helps, I've not tried it on Linux, the game works well on Windows in my experience, it's solved numerous graphic issues I've had over the past few months alongside the increased access to graphics memory has made horses and other high poly models not cause my game to stutter as it does on 1.69. In fact, nwn.ini is missed in game tree, but in documentation there is info about nwn.ini and nwnplayer.ini files The files you are looking for alongside where haks/overrides and tlk files are stored in NWN:EE can be found inside one of the following locations based on your OS to the best of my knowledge. [My Documents]\Neverwinter Nights Windows (only one I've installed NWN:EE on so only one I can actually confirm) ~/Documents/Neverwinter Nights macOS ~/.local/share/Neverwinter Nights Linux (I'll get around to trying it sometime, I've mostly just been too busy) I'm unsure if the Linux version currently supports full screen, I recall there being an issue they were looking into but don't remember where I saw that, I'll take a look when I get a moment and edit it in here if I find it. *edit* Found where I saw mentioned Linux didn't have full screen support, don't know if it's still relevant but considering you couldn't find how in game I'd say it's likely. forums.beamdog.com/discussion/67137/linux-full-screenFM.

Now it is good question how to switch game from window to full screen mode. I'm unsure if the Linux version currently supports full screen, It looks like current version of linux client do not support full screen mode and It is bad. To receive the same functionality in window mode it is necessary to use arrows on keyboard to rotate.

So experimental code for normal and specular maps was added to EE on the Feb 2nd patch, the following picture is the before and after experimentation of one of the NWN communities many skilled hobbyist content creators with such. Before Picture After Picture Makes me really want to see Razgriz sandbox with such changes. A picture of old and new Aribeth on EE from their current patch notes. The text that comes with the image from the EE patch notes. If this is the new standard for Beamdog content, I am very curious to see what comes in the future. Patch notes can be seen at blog.beamdog.com/2018/02/nwnee-8157-8158-patch-notes.html for those interested

For those that don't have the time or inclination to watch the full stream and what was said during it, but still wish to keep uptodate on the details the recap can be found here with screenshots and important topics highlighted, it makes for a far quicker and easier skim of the details. blog.beamdog.com/2018/02/february-9-livestream-recap.htmlFM.

Steam keys are out now, and for some reason they changed my deluxe edition DLC keys into standard edition game keys so I have 4 extra copies to give out. I've given 2 out to friends, and got 2 left over now; anyone here want them? PM me.

So far my only real complaint is the seeming lack of a gamma slider on the options. The setting is just too dark.

I heard that you can buy steam cards at stores and then upload the information to your steam account and pay for games that way. Is that correct and if so where?

Yup! support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1193-WLXV-6514Most brick and mortar game shops would probably have them, and big retail places like Walmart or Target.

I'm always kind of cynical about these "enhanced editions", they are never really all they're cracked up to be. Skyrim's was just a cash grab. Yay, pay for mods! Other games like Baldur's Gate look a little better but are buggier than the original. How about...just a wild thought...someone come out with a new generation rpg in the spirit of NWN that supports PWs?

Unfortunately, great expectations is the reason for big disappointment. Be patient. It looks like EE will start, but not so quick as a lot of people think and not so easy as they want.

Wooo.. Um, guys.. EE isn't anything special.
This is what Steam says about EE Enhanced Features: -Improved Display: Your portrait, combat bar, inventory, and other UI elements adjust in size based on your chosen resolution including 1080p and 4k. -Advanced Graphics Options: Pixel shaders and post-processing effects make for crisper, cleaner visuals. Enable contrast, vibrance, and depth of field options as preferred. -Community Endorsed: Original developers have teamed with key members of the Neverwinter Nights community to curate important fan-requested improvements to support players, storytellers, and modders. -Backwards Compatibility: Works with save games, modules, and mods from the original Neverwinter Nights. A galaxy of community created content awaits.
But hey, check this out alright? -Improved display?.. I don't want my UI elements to increase in size. I like them small so they don't block my view of the world. -Advanced Graphics?.. I have the nwn's shader installed and I already have depth of field and enhanced vibrancy etc etc. -Community crap?.. A lot of these super awesome pictures you're seeing of EE are heavily modded things that you can already do with mods on the original NWNs game. All these mods are great but they don't really help if your server doesn't implement them and FRC -doesn't-. FRC is against Hak files and stuff. -Backwards compatibility?.. Congratulations, your new game works. My old game works too XD.
Idk, maybe I'm missing something but I am not impressed at all lol. I've watched a bunch of videos about the EE and the game looks basically the same as my modded shader enhanced game already looks. Shaders, a few overrides, and NWN CX loader will give you basically all the stuff the EE is offering. Also streamlining mods with Steam is cool but I've never had a problem with installing mods manually not to mention Mods (unless they're overrides) don't work unless the server you're playing on is also using them.
That's my take on EE. Not gonna give any of my money over to them. Nwn's is a dying animal and the EE is just a fresh coat of paint... Still a dead animal it's just a different color now lol.
I've been having much more fun doing real table top RP Via Roll20 and that has a lot to do with why I havn't been around for several months. That and I've gotten into Divinity Original sin 2. Which by the way, Divinity 2 has a toolset for building areas and it has a DM mode. I havn't messed with it much but might be a lot of potential there.
