Heya guys!
I want to thank the staff for giving me the chance to help out around here with some of the load and what not.
My times online will most likely be short, but almost daily stints in the evening hours Central Standard time.
I plan on running small events, bringing life to many of your Favorite NPCs and in general making FRC seem like an ever changing place.

Sorry about your loss man. Pets are always a heartache one day, the second you bring them home.

I miss my dog as well. She was a white German Shepard. We had to put her down. Before hand we took her out in the fall and took some beautiful pictures. I think her best is with her laying on a small bed of fall colored leaves, with her ears at attention, and a good smile on her face. We had it enlarged and framed. It hangs in our bedroom now. She is still part of my family. Now we have a cat because we didn't want to replace her, but we are thinking about getting a dog again. Good luck and god bless!

well crap...
I was having some graphics issues with NWN, so I uninstalled and was reinstalling.
My NWN CDs are burned copies since I don't have my old ones...and after reading the play disk, Install disk 1 and 2, it needed me to enter Install disk 1 again...and it wouldnt read it.
I was like what the hell...
So I exit installation, and try to start over...neither of my drives will read the disks...they spin them, but dont read them.
so I try a CD I was listening to not more than an hour ago. Nada.
so I try a non burned CD. Nada.
my CD Drivers have finally gone kaput. They weren't reading blank CDs for a while, and now they wont read anything.
so I am screwed. both CD drives aren't reading a damn thing. So until I can get a new tower...looks like I am on hiatus from being IG.
ARGH!!!

Question:
If I were to hypothetically come up with a new computer, would my old monitor suffice until I could get a new one?
that way I could get a computer that works, even if the old monitor is kinda sucky. would save me a few hundred clams on getting a new monitor and stuff.
anyone?

I'm pretty sure that most you could just use the old monitor. The monitors from my computer and my brother's, years apart in age and completely different styles and brands, work on each other's computers just fine.

This is going to seem like a "duh" question, but have you physically cleaned out your CD drives? Take an air can to it to blow out the dust and such? I had a similar problem and there was nothing wrong with them, they just needed the dust off the lenses.

Also, another thing you can try (since you have all but given up on your comps drives) is looking at your drives and doing a google search on the manufacturer and see if they have updated drivers. It may not be as easy as just installing those drivers. You may have to go to Control Panel --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager. Once here, select your CD drives and uninstall. You may try rebooting at this time and your comp may auto detect them, or you might try installing the drivers at this point. If this doesnt work, you might try editing your bios, but since you got such an old system, I would have to talk to you live to work through that.

go with greenie on this one.. can you MSN, cause anyone of us can get your drivers and send them to you..
then walk you through it
the bios seems pretty complex but really sounds like either drivers got stinged.. chip got fried or something just stupid..
Also if you got win XP , System RESTORE!.. fixes all problems, go back to a day NWN 1 was working, and maybe see something you've downloaded could of gummed up the works. I'm no qualified techy but I've had my share of shitty situations.

to those of you that I had come all the way to Dhedluk, and then disappeared on last night, I am VERY sorry.
For some unknown reason, I had a power outtage last night, and it didn't come back on until some time after midnight.
Needless to say, after spending the better part of 2 hours setting up a dungeon, creating new creatures, coming up with a plot hook, and dragging several of you out there, I was livid about the whole ordeal.
I am very sorry again, it was gonna be a really fun ride, and I'll try to set it up again here real soon.
DAMMIT! It was a really awesome looking adventure!

guess that means your up and running.. good job.
I was going to suggest just getting new drives and installing them versus a whole new desktop, but glad the air-can worked or whatever.. much easier.
yeah!

Well kiddos, that time has come. My wedding is Friday, and I'm going to have people pouring into town all week, as well as final preperations to make. SO I am more than likely not going to be IG from here until...well who knows? After the weekend, we're Honeymooning in Sonoma and Northern CA, then moving back to Montana on May 15. We'll both be starting our jobs, me running a ranch, her an interior designer. SO! we're gonna be busy as hell. MAYBE the end of the summer before I am seen treading the soil of Cormyr once again, hard to say. I'll be on the forums, making insulting comments and inside jokes as usual, so you won't get to miss me entirely. Take care everyone, and don't give the rest of the staff too much trouble, or I will make the extra time to log in and whip ya fer it! Best wishes and lots of luck. -the God and Goddess of War
