I would like to have a couple of things clarified regarding the server rules and the cormyrian laws regarding the eating of thinking beings.
Twice now, I have personally seen half-orc characters emoting eating bones or flesh, and either claim that the bones or flesh are elven, or the description of what they're eating points to elven. I have talked with other players of elven characters indicating the same thing. Half-orcs seem to be keen to use eating elf as a way to incite elven characters and create drama. What does the Cormyrian law say about anyone eating thinking beings? Whether it's human, elf, halforc, halfling, gnome, or whatever, is there any law which protects the dead from being eaten? Can this be reported as a crime?
The human characters that have been around when this has been done have pretty much ignored it. Which I don't think is right. Whether it's human, elf, halfling, gnome, or whatever kind of flesh is being eaten or claimed to be eaten, it should disgust any observers. Especially those of good alignment should be repulsed by this action. But good characters are ignoring it, and worse, they are turning against the elves that, offended, confront the half-orcs doing it.
Do elves have ANY recourse to see that the bodies of their departed kin are not desecrated and eaten?
Should humans that ignore or support such actions be given alignment points toward evil?

Hi Shadou I would like to have a couple of things clarified regarding the server rules and the cormyrian laws regarding the eating of thinking beings. We've maintained a public post of laws and punishments applicable on FRC in the link below. The list doesn't cover every crime that can take place but it provides for the most common occurrences. frc.proboards.com/thread/29405/laws-cormyrCannibalism and desecration of the dead are not listed but these are of course illegal activities in Cormyr. In the eyes of the law, a sentient person having legal rights who eats the flesh of another sentient person having legal rights could be practicing cannibalism and desecrating the dead. Let's remember that the term half-orcs is a generalization. Some individual half-orcs may be doing this behavior and would be individually accountable to the authorities. So there are laws against these acts in Cormyr, even if we don't have them listed in the link above. The behavior can be reported as a crime to the authorities. Individuals on the scene may have ignored the behavior. In the setting the behavior would be disturbing to most sentient creatures, especially those of good alignment. Lawful characters in particular would be concerned about the breaking of the law and have an inclination to report the crime. Do elves have ANY recourse to see that the bodies of their departed kin are not desecrated and eaten? Absolutely. Elven characters observing this have some choices. 1. Report the crime to the authorities. 2. Particularly chaotic characters might take the law into their own hands and take steps against the cannibals directly. To manage expectations however the players of these characters should be aware that they run the risk of crossing the law themselves if they are observed or reported doing so. Be smart. 3. Particularly chaotic characters might go and hire some resources of their own to go against the cannibals. Again, players making these decisions need to be aware when they are breaking the law themselves that consequences can happen. Be smart. 4. Characters may continue doing what you've been trying to do which is raise awareness and disapproval of this behavior in the court of public opinion in hopes of pressuring a change in the behavior. 5. There are elven authorities or elven people of influence in game for elven characters to turn to for advice and guidance, both NPC and PC. 6. Other creative solutions ethical and unethical come to mind... Should humans that ignore or support such actions be given alignment points toward evil? Possibly and it depends. This is a DM / EDM's call to make by observing what's happened on the scene and taking into account the characters present.

PS - Another option to legally confront the cannibal is to challenge them to a duel. Duels are legal if they are agreed, witnessed by individuals representing both parties, and terms are set in advance. If conducted properly, duels can legally be to first blood, to yield or KO, or to the death.
This is also a good time to remind everyone that we have a subdual system in place on FRC for characters preferring to partake in non-lethal combat.
