Footnotes
Fiendish Summoning - The rank of fiends in these lists are not a reflection of their own fiendish hierarchies, but rather the War Wizards' assessment of the relative threat they pose to the Crown's People. In addition to the fines and penalties incurred from Summoning, Binding, or Calling a fiend, the offending mage is also responsible for any violation of law committed by the fiend. A detailed list of what fiends fall into this category is on display to registered mages at the Stormhaven House. Ignorance of the law is not exemption from the law. Mages of appropriate power are encouraged to register immediately. War Wizards and those sanctioned by the War Wizards are exempt from these laws.
Harming of Cats - The act of inflicting unneeded pain and forcing unnecessary violence upon the Forest Kingdom’s most respected of animals: cats and tressyms. This law does not extend to familiars of feline-orientation, and only to household cats/domesticated cats/tressyms one may find on the streets.
Illegal Worship - Worship of Bane, Cyric, Shar, Gargauth and fiends.
Robbery/Burglary - Victims who have suffered an act of robbery and/or burglary against them, while sustaining material loss, should be reimbursed.
Slavery - The act of forcing one of the Crown’s citizens against their will, to serve either a master or mistress, with intents of never freeing. Foreign bodies who carry slaves are required to register them - state origins and reasons for being in Cormyr. Foreign delegates on diplomatic missions within Cormyr need not register their slaves.
Threatening & Dangerous Behavior - Brandishing weapon(s) in a threatening manner, dangerous operation of coaches and wagons or any-and-all-other conveyances, drunk and disorderly conduct.
Undead Creation, Enslavement, or Summoning - The rank of undead creatures reflect the War Wizards' assessment of the relative threat they pose to the Crown's People. In addition to the fines and penalties incurred from creation, enslavement, or summoning of an undead creature the offending mage or cleric is also responsible for any violation of law committed by the undead creature. Mages of appropriate power are encouraged to register at Stormhaven House immediately. War Wizards and those sanctioned by the War Wizards are exempt from these laws.
Unlawful Dueling - Willingly engaging in duels in close quarters of her Kingdoms people, buildings, and farmlands. Take duels to remote grounds.
Unregistered Spellcaster - Spellcasters that are able to cast spells of 5th circle or higher, who knowingly walk the lands without having registered their sigil and whereabouts of abode to the War Wizards. Registrations may be done within Espar, at the Stormhaven College.
Out of Character (OOC) Notes about Cormyr Law and Punishment
1. All fines and punishments are only enforced if the individual(s) charged are found guilty. In order for a individual to be found guilty, there has to be enough evidence to prove they committed a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Insufficient evidence will result in no criminal charges.
2. These laws apply to all characters, regardless of alignment.
3. When reporting a crime to an authority in game please provide screenshots or logs of the event to a DM. Edited logs/screenshots will not be accepted. Please submit evidence to a DM as soon as possible following the occurrence of event in question. Crimes reported are investigated and reviewed by the DM Team.
4. All death sentences end in the loss of 100 xp/level.
5. Jail time/banishment is based on real-life time.
6. If you can't pay the crime, then you do the time; criminals shall be sent to the debtor's prison. Jail time is 1 Day/250 lions.
7. Acts of Self Defense will always be taken into consideration.
8. Acts of Torture would qualify under Assault charges, in their respective Plaint
9. Banishment is based on where the crime occurred. If it is proven the crime took place in the countryside, banishment shall be from the closest Corymrian city, town, village.
