A letter was placed to Kale on the counter addressed to him. The words are scrawled in ink and splotches adorn the page all over.
Dear Kale,
As a concerned Citizen Of Isinhold as well as a dear friend of yours I implore you consider taking stronger measures for keep The Regal Griffon Inn safe to travelers.
Only two nights past did I happen upon horrible events! I hope they come to an end peacefully.
First, your cellar does continue to plague of rats, but not just small ones, mutated rats which stand taller than any person I have seen in my life. I do not know how they became in your cellar, but they must be desposed of properly. I had heard rumors before if it is the same litter then the nest has not been destroyed. I and another nearly lost our lives that night. I do not know how Sam keeps his self knowing those rats could kill him with the blink of one eye, and the patrons of the inn too!
Second, while at the inn, a patron stumbled upon a set trap! It was placed in the joined room behind the fire place. I am sure I told you that night but given the chaos that evening it deserves repeating. I suspect this could be either a joke or a very serious crime, one I hope the Town Council looks in to. I hope only but a prank, but it is hard to tell at this time.
Anyone will agree Isinhold has undergone much strife the past few seasons. Though I only come to your inn merely but a drink or bit to eat I do care for the safety of our visitors. Although we get many adventurers ten times stronger than I we can surely do well without the need to lean on them for help.
Should you require assistance with this, if you need a person to watch in side at night or to help at the counter or to help with the rats, I may be of some assistance or mayhaps an adventurer or a Guard's Man could help.
As a husband and a father I know the burden can be hard at times. Please let me know if there is some thing I can provide to you, friend. You shall not be a lone.
May the gods watch over The Regal Griffon Inn with utmost grace,
Tucker Evenstone
