Several years ago a friend invited me to come here. At that time the server was passworded and very few new players logged on, so I was often forced to solo or join groups of much higher level. This had disadvantages, but one major advantage I had was to play with some of the more established players on the server and to become involved in some of the more convoluted plots going on at that time. Needless to say I had fun, because I'm still here!
Recently the server went unpassworded and we've had a flood of new players. This has created the opportunity for large low-level groups to form and accomplish things I never could when I was new, but the disadvantage is that much of the lore, history, and atmosphere of Cormyr that I was immersed in has been spread a bit thin.
The older players here have established through long play certain conventions that new players may find strange or difficult to understand, but don't dismiss them. Cormyr is an old server with roots that go deep. There is a lot of history here, and even though I've played here for two years I'm still the new guy.
So, please take the time to play with some of the older members of our community. Try to fit in here rather than change us to make it more like your last server. This place is unique and has unique challenges, but the playerbase here is among the best in the Neverwinter family.
