Hey Folks So a little question on about moving your home base from town to town.. I decided that upon reaching lvl 6 my char was getting a little too big for the amateur britches i wished him to wear, so i decided to move his home base to a different more difficult location, where he could enjoy tougher battles, and a slower leveling process. 1) I expect ill be spending a lot more time alone in my new home, as i rarely see that many other folks there. Is this considered anti-social? or some form of power gaming? 2)While i attempt to kill everything i come across is it bad form to use the "sling lure", and "moving out of sight of caster" strategies to overcome spellcasters, to draw otherwise too difficult groups of enemies one by one so that my char can defeat them? 3) Does it make RP sense that if i moved my char to a different town he will stay there, and deal with what he finds? as opposed to grinding on easier areas until he reaches a lvl that most would consider appropriate for tougher foes? 4) if I die in my new town, is there in fact a way for me to respawn in different cities? and if i not, and i do respawn, can I in fact just rp myself going right back to my new city for the after death rp? just a couple questions, i do enjoy slow leveling, and really hard battles, any input on this would be appreciated

1) I expect ill be spending a lot more time alone in my new home, as i rarely see that many other folks there. Is this considered anti-social? or some form of power gaming? It's not a form of power gaming as long as the town you are basing your character at is not just a place to sell and rest in between fighting things. If you have him stick around a bit at the inn and maybe sharpen up his sword, or clean his armor, do things other then just continuously head out then you're not being anti-social. Wait around long enough and people will eventually come by and you may just generate some RP. That's just simply strategy and certainly if you're alone not a bad tactic to used. However, do mind that on FRC it's encouraged that you journey with groups. It certainly makes RP sense that your character would try to see what he can do with the problems in that area. Grinding -- which sometimes can be seen as powerleveling -- is very much discouraged so finding foes that are tougher is the better option. I don't think you can choose where you can respawn (been a while since any of my characters have had to respawn so I don't have the full answer). As for that second part of that question... hmm, I would differ to what the DMs think on that one. For instance if you had your character go on a bit of a trip outside of his 'home' town and end up dying on the road, I would think it would make more RP sense that your character was "saved" at the nearest temple to your death. A #1 key to slow leveling? Take your time and RP with others. Let your character get familiar with PCs that he sees around town. Strike up conversations, develop your own characters personality on other levels -other- then combat. Have him get a little drunk once in a while or if he's not into that have him practice some sword swings. Generate some RP in other places other then while fighting. There is more to FRC then just what creatures your character can take at what levels. Much more. If you find it, it can be one of the most rewarding playtime you can ever receive.
