I dont know how anyone else feels about them other than "That blows" but...
I refuse to recognize these IG anymore, honestly 90% of the time when they happen my PC would have survived... (ie: sanctuary spells, invisibility spells, healing, running away, switching to melee weapons, activating expertise etc) and it just seems sensless to me to incorperate it into my RP seeing as it is a random bit of mechanics not working right that causes it and not any choice I make as a player or feel my PC would make as a character. I typically play it off as some lunatic baddy hit me with a disjunction scroll, dust off and hopefully I dont crash again.
Thoughts?

I think that in refusing the recongize them you really just mess up other players, as we use healing/raise scrolls to heal characters that die in crashes.
My idea would be go with the flow, if you crash out and die, meh, that sucks, true, but really just playing along makes it alot smoother for others rp, then sitting there and while others are asking if your characters ok, she just ignores the comments, but yet the other characters used the healing on her.
heh I feel your pain on the suckage, but for the sake of immersion just play it out..
thats my humble opinion on the matter.

Everyone has moments where they flake and stop paying attention and get whacked (a good way to explain death by crash). Granted when you have a mage buffed more than a sports car its a bit harder to explain away...
Crashes stink. Nuff said.

Ocassionally, Crap happens.
When it does, you die.
It sucks, but you gotta roll with it, because everyone else has to roll with it.
Other wise you get something like this:
*logs back in dead*
//Argh! Stupid crash!
meanwhile, other players are IC doing what they can to RP raising you from death, casting healing and buffing spells.
//Ignore that, I crashed, so I really didn't die. //Oh, ok well ignore everything I said about being sad about his death. //yea ignore what I was saying while I was praying over his body. //yea, ignore me too when I was keeping an eye out for gremilins while you guys were raising him.
and so on and so on.
Roll with the punches, keep EVERYTHING IC as much as you possibly can.
Everyone has a bad day, and a crash death can be one of the unforseen mishaps that comes with adventuring that dice rolls cannot account for.

I can't count the number of times a crash death has gotten me. I just charge it to the game and go with the flow.

Actually, I think those were me DM killing and then booting you. I -knew- there was a reason you were always standing over me pointing and laughing when I relogged!
