I'm following the trend... And yes, curiosity has finally gotten to me. I thought I had asked before, but couldn't find anything anywhere (maybe it was just that long ago...), so... Thoughts on my PCs, Torian Burrfoot and Oriana Gant. Like I said, curiosity (or maybe it was Tori's dagger to the back of the skull a few times that did so...) finally got to me. Now, just as a note, this in no way means I will or will not change my characters' personalities. I'm just curious as to what people think and to possible help me figure out where to take these two RP wise. Also, I do not look down on people for critisizing my me, just make sure it's constructive (ex. Don't tell me something is wrong/bad without giving examples on what can be done to improve it). Besides... I have other reasons to send killer dessert your way as it is.

I really wish I had played more with Torian as I could see Guldar being good Friends with her. Not even just as a player for the excellent role play but just because she and him tend to agree that the end justifies the means. Though as greedy as both of them were, I have no idea who would turn on who, lol. I dug the mage as well. Reminded me of those old Conan Comic Book mages with their blatant sexuality but cool demeanor. I had more interactions with her than Torian though Tori has been around since like the dawn of time.

I have always liked Torian. I especially liked the dual-personality crisis she suffered, I thought it was a nice touch. I think the only thing that bugs me about her is the way she always seems to bag on herself. She needs to adopt an "I'm fine, it's everyone else that's the problem" sort of attitude. Basically she needs to be a bit more arrogant, ;D just a `bit` more mind you, other than that I love her, she's a great character. I don't think anyone could be both loved and hated at the same time by so many. Torian is truely one of a kind. As for Oriana... I'm really not sure yet. I'll get back to you.

I have always admired the stick to character ethos you have brought to your players even though it has made some of those characters hard to play at times. I know several of mine have had good times and bad times with Torain and have encountered Oriana in passing.
Anyone can play the lovable hin or elf or human. it takes something more to play a character that is going to come off as.. well.. rough around the edges (put kindly) and hard to get to know becuase they seem to try and distance themselves automatically in that first encounter. So i admire the fact you can do that to stay true to the PC and what has made them what they are this day.
At the same time.. it is also what I dont like about Torain (Oriana not so much becuase I just havent interacted with her very much).. her attitude automatically puts off a player most times on first meeting. Some of the things Torain says right off the bat can come off as VERY offensive and almost mean at times. Yes.. is it in character.. but at the same time it puts up a wall that makes it very hard to justify trying to make a second attempt and getting to know the little hin. *ducks for cover behind a VERY large and strong wall* So I guess the only thing I can suggest there is maybe dont be so quick to throw out those initial observations.. it would seem to me that Torain would probably know that first impression can be misleading so I dont see it being so far out of character to wait before totally going off on someone.. maybe that gives a better chance to get to know the pc then that first impression.. will she be right more then wrong on that first impression.. probably. But it also allows for a bit more RP before getting that door (or dagger) slammed in their face.
You know me Misha.. I have said it in game before.. I wish i had a PC that could interact more with Torain cause I think you are a great RPer.. but man can you make it hard to do that. Would I ever want to see you change to fit what I think.. heck no.. There are hin by the score.. There is only ONE Torain.

torian.. well I can say I've had my character make an attempt to get to know her.. and from entori's perspective and mine... *puzzlement*....
Torian.. confuses and amazes me and hundred levels. thats a good thing, but I can never quite figure out who or what torian is or does. Which is a part of her character. mystress of shadows.
As for oriana. well I can't say I did more then scribe her a scroll once. really makes me want to make a rather shady character, I get to miss out on some of the great Rpers. like Torian. But Some of our more interesting moments, leave me even more puzzled.. like the time ent magically appeared in the buff in her inn room.
So all I have to say, is Torian encourages emotions and quite a lot of thought in players and Pc's she shows a depths that could be a hundred layers deep or not.. one never knows and that is a part of her allure.
Now all this said I've not spent alot of time near torian. so take that as you will some characters may go a hundred diffrent paths on FRC.
Some almost never ever meet, and I can count a few great Rpers that don't.
the point.. I feel you've developed a personality with depth feelings, and that is recongized when someone says.. oh torian.. tut.. and well many characters only know her reputation.
Its something a lot of people do not have, that their characters can be known but never truly known.
I'd say a job well done misha.
hopefully more of oriana, in the future..
