Heh wear a dress for a disguise. Good luck having that ever work. There is a reason that the hoods and robes are used so often. It is the only thing that that you can employ which might have a chance at success. I have had a character with reasonable buff skills dressed in rags like a peasant or scullery maid try to pass off as that. Did it ever work once...nope.
N' beg' yer pard'n M'lord I'as did try me best ta change da ol'pipes.
Trying to disguise yourself in an effective manner is a Herculean task. Other examples spring to mind but why beat a dead horse. All that I can say is cut the person some slack, your not Colombo or Sam Spade. Be clueless sometimes, it makes the resulting RP in the long run more enjoyable for both.

"Recognition is far easier than most folk here seem to think. It's something primates are really good at." Perhaps for you, but what about a character with 10 wisdom and no spot? www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/baboon.htmAccording to this, of course a baboon is going to be better at spotting someone than that character.

You assume a wisdom score my performance cannot support, sir!

for what brian had stated, I think it depends on the character.
Some characters who you know well are easily identifiable, and those who make a living in guise subterfuge, and misleading others, would be very good at it. Very mission impossible 2, in the airplane style.
I would agree that some yes you can know, but some, who are well trained (high level rogue/assassain/bard etc) would be able to use what I posted to their effect.
anyways
good luck to those trying, but I agree no disguise is infallible, it may take weeks, months, but the bad guy is eventually found out..
Old character here was pro at it, played Veshal.. very very interesting times around that player...
anyways I said my recommendations to some who are unable to get around the mechanics of the NWN system.
As for wisdom scores etc, *shrugs* seems like the matter is done with.

Kenji wears a hood for good reason in Cormyr... it rains. Second reason: he is bald apart from a topknot.
Seriously though, the shadowed hoods are becoming somewhat of a fad. Everyone has one.
