For some reason I was thinking about this topic today and thought I'd post the question to the community. There are monsters and spells that can drop your PC's abilities to 3 or 4. Its easy to think of how this would affect one's physical abilities like strength or dexterity. It's a little different (unless you are a spell caster, perhaps) when its intelligence, wisdom or charisma. When Rastan looses his wisdom I play him as acting semi-childish. He has lost common sense and begins to act foolish. He doesn't really have the perception to realize that he lost his wisdom. I'm curious if others act this out differently. So, when your PC has lost his/her intelligence, wisdom, or charisma how do you role play that? How does someone with an INT of 3 act? Note: Feel free to check out this thread for definitions of wisdom, intelligence and charisma. |

Someone with an intelligence of 3 would be unable to even talk, they would almost revert to a caveman with only grunts and other similar vocalizations in my opinion. I believe even in the rules it states that anyone with an intelligence of 8 or less has difficulty speaking.

Wisdom drain usually entails my PC rushing into the middle of a bunch of heavily armed opponents (AKA "doing a Nura"). On one particular occasion, whilst using an umbrella as my weapon. Low Intelligence I usually RP by using one syllable words and grunting a lot, for which my father provides excellent inspiration. Low Charisma, well, that's when the fun really starts...  |
