Well.. this is my first time posting here so lets get down to the matter at hand.
I am trying to create a player made guide book to evil, for those dark characters that walk the ever so happy paths of darkness. I am basically going to give an example of something my DM has let me do that I think other dark magic users, to be precise wizards could benefit from. Now there exists the annoying little ability of paladins to find out if your evil or not. And I know there is a few spells that help mask your alignment but I have come up with a much more... devilish way to do so. Anyone up for the harvesting the souls of innocents.
Now basically this is how it works, you need a large amount of spellpower and the ability to brew a potion or alchemically produce a drug that puts the drinker into a deep sleep that would require the brew's effects to undo(Some DM's will let you some won't), scroll of Geas & Magic Jar, the ability to cast the oh so beloved permanency and the much dreaded but in my cast beloved Finger of Death. Also some item like a small metal orb enchanted to be invisible or a small gem that can be placed inside or into the skin of the person.
Here is what happens, the brew that is created will in effect put the victim i.e someone you know to be very honorable or simply a bastion of good to sleep. Should you be able to trick them into having a drink with you brew some 'tea', your cup will be real tea while his contains the brew. The way we determined it, is that when your asleep reflexes and fortitude take penalties, of the few DMs that I have talked to the mass agreement is that the penalty would be the same as if they were fatigued to the point of dropping where they stand, which they said is -8. If their wrong please tell me, but that how we worked it out in our games.
Now comes the fun part, and the hard part.. Once their asleep, cast Geas on them telling them that when they die they will not matter what tell anyone that they are happy where they are and they will not interact with the living for it is against their personal honor, make sure you know a little about the target so you can set it up to where it's believable. Then prepare magical jar so when you cast Finger of Death your ready. Now kill the fool, cast Magical jar but change the focus to the jem or small object your going to place into your body. Them cast Soul Bind, that will stop those annoying spells like True Resurration, most people should stop at that point usually their lovers, fanatic followers and the like then watch out for Wish. But a simple extra Geas for the soul to never remember what happened stops you from being hunted like a dog. Cast the permanency on the focus and place it into your body.
Now the way I saw it, the detect evil sees your aura, so the pure good aura of the soul your stolen will hopefully mask your own making you seem to be Neutral. That will allow you to simple go about your business. Also invest in a magical device to ward off true telling effects but make sure the cast or user thinks the effects works. And something to stop your mind from beings searched also helps a great deal.
So to all those evil wizards, and cleric with this sorta of spellpower, time and determination, happy soul stealing. It's always funny to see the looks on their faces when a guy with a Paladin's aura stabs them through the heart or burns them alive with their kin.
Note my wizard is quite evil...
