Vandals, Despoilers, and Enemies of Marsember,
You know who you are, and in your hearts, you know you are the worste sort of cowards to ever be birthed. Willing to brave dragons lairs in order to steal the hoarded riches, and willing to use your ill earned arcane powers to slip up like thieves in the night and vandalise a house of lore and learning, but unwilling to show your cowardly faces to a group of musicians, storytellers, and educators. Willing to endanger the lives of innocent men, women, and children by risking the wrath of dragons by night, but unwilling to face the consequences of such acts in the light of day and in the view of those you have put at risk. Willing to apologise to a man you think may have the power to unmask you, but not to his people, or to the students and masters of the house of learning you have vandalised.
Anonymous notes and payoffs are how you solve your problems, first balking at my demands, and having the nerve to point the finger at me, and claim me the criminal. Then coming again, cloaked in secrecy with your scraps of paper and sacks of blood-money to try and make amends behind your disguises. Afraid to sully what must be proud and undeserved reputations.
Face the truth, cowards. Those you may find unsavory, those you may look down on, and those who you deem outcasts, are in fact, better people than you are. Do something brave for once and face the consequences of your actions instead of trying to justify what you have done so rashly without a thought of the danger it might pose to innocents. There is either that or continue to hide your crime forever, and know in your hearts that you truly are what I say.
Tear down my notices, or vandalise them, by all means. Take out your ink when no one is watching and write some clever jape on this note that I, at least have the courage to sign my name to!
