I would like to apologize , Manshin , that was a little unfair of me to assume and indeed i did probably speak rashly , i withdraw my statement. At the time , I was just like , oh come on now, i didnt really stop to think you had IC reason to follow me. If you will excuse me now i must remove my foot from my mouth...

Manshin, if I wish domain Faerun with my beauty you'll drop acid at my face too? *shakes head* That thought hurted profoundly, I can hear the sizzles sounds AAAAAA... I'm out!
Well, when you don't know the person there is no way you send an OOC party invite, but if you know and well there is nothing about metagame, just to remenber, we have our lives and cannot be at the side of our beloved IC ones 24 hours a day, but if we need find our IRL character friends, sister, and beloved ones we find, and in middle age without celulars, phones or pagers we still could find too, we had people to ask, places that person went or stay, and many other things... none metagame, unless that person tells you: I'm not accessible this time (like be in fugue plane or in teh middle of the abiss)

oh i have a few meta things that have happened to me, i remember being hired to kill a certain PC who had put on the message boards in the inns that he was offering to be a guide around the isihold/redmist area so i popped on my human illusion ring bought an Axe and figured i would try and hire him ,so I'm standing around isihold waiting for said PC and decide to go for a little walk around town and i notice this wizard or sorcerer following me so i duck behind a corner and guess what? true-sight starts getting cast so i turn around and ask her in a tell what reason she has for casting that she of course says the old "well i was attacked 2 weeks ago by ((drow, demons.bunnies from hell insert whatever i have heard em all)) and I'm paranoid" excuse so of course i had to go to plan B and it all worked out but i was kinda peeved as i had some good RP planned

WOW thanks for diggin this old puppy out.... I just read through the first 1.5 pages of the thread planning on the next 1.5 tomorrow and I think everyone, good rper, bad rper, new/old. FRC in generally should hold onto the ideals here and read through what some of the past and still playing characters have said. and you know what one thing I'd have to agree with and unfortunately am guilty of doing is.. *me log on* "random crazy person" hey did you hear what $%#@ did to @#$# last night? it was awesome he did this, then she did that, then he did this.".. etc ... now while thats cool, and its really neat hearing about it player to player.. When your character first starts getting info, we're only human and unless you sit there with pen and paper, copying down exactly what you know IC. it gets mixxed up, and I think that there are several people who are guilty of chatting ooc. while, fun, and on occasion, very fun, I think the limit needs to come and for me anyways be a lot a lot lower. Because, when you get that info in character, several things need to happen/ do happen. 1) character A has to find Character b 2)time passes.. 3) character A has to tell Character B in great gory detail. 4)time passes. 5) character C shows up and Character A and B make a plan to confront character #$@! about what was told. 6)time passes instead of.. 1) ooc chatter 2) finds each other 3) plan is hacked out, over brief IC chatter. I don't know how this goes on everyone elses list. and like I said, good on the boring sunday morning when its about ooc heck even out side the game stuff. but when its about IC stuff talk IC.. my new years revolution to FRC. everyone should take a read, a reminder is nice now and again. (just a fan of equality Ent

i would like to mention that ooc talk should not be used for finding people,I came across some low level elves this morning and exchanged a few words and not 2 mins after they left some of the big elves started showing up in my area, now i am not saying ooc was used as they could have ran into them on there travels but when i am stalking someone i have to do it the hard way so please keep that in mind

As far as i know we ran into them. (three of them if my memory serves me well) and didn't use OOC.

I think ooc is good for finding people as long as both people want to find each other. e.g. player a and player b have characters that are friends, that travel round together a lot, and they want to meet up to travel together again, as long as the meeting can be explained ic, i think arranging it ooc is fine.
I might be wrong, but what I think Wynter is on about is, ooc to say "hey person x is in this area I'm not high enough level to kill this person but you can go there and mess up their day" which is wrong and should never ever be done by anyone

I think this thread needs a bump considering some things that have happened in the near past.
Please please please do not share In game information in an OCC manner. No matter how good intentioned you might think it is to let someone know about something... all that happens is to ruin the chain of events after it occurs and cause people to bring up the spectre of METAGAMING.
If your character does something and you want another PC to know about it from a different source because it might be forwarding a player driven plot... PLEASE send a PM to the DM team and let us deliver the message. That way, it eliminates any chance of metagaming issues being raised.
It saves everyone a ton of headaches in the end.
