Chathin Zurn,
Khazark, Thayan Enclave of Proskur
Greeting and blessings
In accordance with the orders received from the noble Khazark Cathin Zurn matters that might act to hinder Thayan interests in the Western Reaches are to be reported in a prompt fashion. During mid Doman of Kythorn in the neutral territory of Isinhold an event transpired that I believe you will find of importance. The report pertains to a wizard of some skill upset at the treatment of a companion of his, referred to by the name of Mouse. The matter seemed to be in response words exchanged over the exact nature of the wolves that frequently attack unwary travelers and whether said attacks had provocation. The elven mans position seemed to imply the wolves as friendly obedient as one would say of a well trained hound, merely misunderstood. Such a tenet is of course opposed to the more common and correctly held belief being that the wolves are simply of a feral nature. The during the debate the fore mention Mouse left in an impassioned state. Shortly there after the wizard appeared. The wizard sought provocation with one of the elven transients that often besets the village. During the altercation the wizard invoked several charms of defense. One of the enchantments cast I have at least a passing familiarity with, that being, commonly referred to as "Shadow Shield". The matter defused itself much to my personal astonishment and I was able to afterwards to converse with the wizard for a period of time. During the conversation he revelieved his name to be "Phelzaron". A subsequent investigation of the records present in the Enclave I believe confirm the individual in question as indeed Phelzaron. His appearance abet masked by cowled hood matches what is detailed in reports by our informants. His skill in casting what is a challenging incantation and personal arrogance is indicative by all the reports that the aforementioned individual is indeed Master Phelzaron. While it was not entirely clear what motivated the wizards return at this date it was evident that he bears little affection for either Thay or Cormyr. The fact that I was not slain outright to my mind suggests that he wishes his presence at this time to be known to all parties.
