To The Council Of Isinhold,
As the summer months are about to shine forth throughout the Magnificent Nation of Cormyr, I have come to understand that there are no formal plans as of yet for a celebration of the Midsummer holy day — one day after the Last of Flamerule; one day before the Day of Shieldmeet; two days before the First of Eleasias.
This is an grand opportunity not only to recognize the middle point of the summer season, but also for all to gather among farmers, laborers, soldiers and travelers alike, from and around the area: to learn and celebrate with one another; to showcase our trained and innate talents; and to be able to forget, for at least one day, the burdens, trials, and losses that we all suffer throughout the year. I believe Isinhold to be a perfect place for activities during a Midsummer Festival for its open environment, its already popular stopping-point for adventurers, and for its inherent, natural beauty and charm.
With your blessing I wish to help coordinate this event. Planned festivities would begin sometime during the day of Midsummer, and continue through the night, certainly ending sometime before Dawn of Shieldmeet. Some activities may include from the following: Singing, Dancing, Poetry Recitation, Limerick, Archery, Contests of Strength, Mind, or Others, Talent Show, Fashion Show, Food and Drink.
I have begun talking with several Craftsmen, Bards, and commonfolk around Isinhold about the idea, and have received overwhelmingly strong support. Funds to hold the event would be gained from public fund-raising and through private donations. Although certainly most welcome, no extra coin is required from the Village of Isinhold.
I am fully aware that planning a festival is no easy task; however, I feel through the participation of the best and most talented minds in Cormyr, and the interest of the Cormyrean peoples, that we can have a Grand Event that will be remembered for years to come!
Respectfully, and Most Humbled,
