Do you know how to code in C++ or Java?
NWN's scripting language is based pretty strongly on them.

Get to work, Coffee!
I'm trying to get Coffee to play here (and happy to see he created an account on the forum) but I saw on another forum I lurk that he's considering writing his own tutorial so that would be good too.

also if you can get your hands on the Lilac Script maker...that'll get you started and be able to see examples of the code to make things clearer......it's also pretty easy to manuever as well.

Aurora Toolset has static libraries.. so you can basically see all the commands available to you on the right hand side of the script editor. Yea Lilacs is a nice little program.. but it has a few bugs.. Mostly it uses the same variable names over and over which sometimes causes problems.
