The Red Wizard meets the rider in the dead of night, using the cover of darkness as he hands the letter to him. “Make sure none but the Khazark of Proskur receive this.” The letter reads:
I have arrived in Cormyr and already have acquired a reasonable amount of skill and knowledge. The fools in these lands are complacent at best and hardly aware of what is going on around them. I have encountered and “befriended” a large faction of powerful clerics and necromancers that seem to have motives that could coincide with our own. Furthermore, it appears there is an extremely powerful undead Illithid that is gathering some sort of army in the Underdark, poised to strike the country. It has even bound a floating skull of tremendous power, its eyes adorned with gems.
Whether you or Thay is privy to this information is unknown to me but I hope it finds you well. I shall continue investigating the region and its inhabitants.
If Thay requires my skills for any other tasks I shall be more than willing,
Mencius

Mage Mencius,
The Khazark is extremely busy and cannot respond to your letter personally. As for your assumption that the cabal of necromancers you mentioned have goals that coninside with our own, that is not your place to decide. Avoid becoming too close with members of this cabal. We do not need to make unsavory allies, at least not openly.
Having that said, do NOT make enemies, Mage Mencius. Our political standings in Cormyr and the City-State of Redmist are currently on the fence and we do not need more obsticals to overcome. I hope this is very clearly understood.
Keep us informed of any significant news you hear. That is all.
Khalia, Red Wizard Fourth Circle Office of the Khazark, Proskur

The Red Wizard finishes reading the responding letter and starts muttering. A flame ingulfs his hand, iginiting the note and destroying all traces of it. He starts walking back towards the village, speaking softly under his breath "Understood."
