I have been in Cormyr for a solid week now, I find this place to be not so backwater as the more arrogant human fellow outside the tavern out it, no matter how adapted to the city life you are it’s not easy to simply say such a beautiful land of unrefined civilized touch.
During this time I have also taken the liberty of looking threw the ancient elven ruin, I have estimated it’s origin to be as far back as the Crown Wars, some literature I had read in the past may point out that this land was originally a wood elf Kingdome. Be it that it was such a long time ago and records of such time periods and events are rare indeed.
My first constructed staff is but useless against the creatures in this land but I did happen to stumble upon a rare find indeed and on land not to mentions. A staff adorned with symbols of the the sea elven kin god Deep Sashelas. My mind lingers in excitement as to how this staff got here or what were it’s uses, one thing may be for certain is if I continue to dive into this ruin I might be able to dig up the story behind this staff.

I have heard rumors of elemental mages that are in league with the god of destruction Talos. But I am not sure what to do…I find the spells in the Elemental field as well as the spells compiled by every walk of life, in the past I considered exploring the possibilities of planer binding and examinations and studies upon which the planer creature originated from. Possibly when I am able to gain my own tower, until then such research in normally carried out in abandoned houses across Cormyr or in my currently rented Inn room.
The staff of the god Deep Sashelas and the worship of my current patron Mystra have me on the edge, while I had not been baptized by the Lady of Mysteries church I still fear as to what she would think of me converting. While I know most of the magic thought the universe and beyond is possibly linked to the weave I am still not able to rest at ease with my idea of further study into the elemental plane of water and dabbling in a few other planner studies and binding. This symbol of the god adorns the top of the staff that resembles an octopus, up and down the shaft I find things that echo of the water.Page 8

In another dive I located a rare find, one such that should never be seen by eyes or by the sun, if it would be held by any other it would bring great unrest to the local populations, I had been solicited by a Harper, a very rare possibly once in a life time event, I took the liberty of asking her to bring the book to my father in silverymoon. He would most enjoy the secrets of the Baelnorns that may have occupied the ancient elven ruin at one point.
At that I still sence I am distrusted, I more then ever sence it from the wizard in red how always throws me a glance and seems to have a general tone of distrust dispite not knowing his language. Still I must continue to look for artifacts and magic that most other races would find to be more distrusting about the elves, even if the Baelnorns are of good nature and the eldest of a elven community.

During today’s dive into the ancient elven ruins I came across a band of many Skulks. Killing them and going deeper into the darkest regions I found an old alter to the dead god Ibrandul who had some years ago been usurped by the dark goddess Shar, it was apparent that they were clueless as the alter had fresh sacrifices placed on and around it. They most likely make up the evil branch of this dead god’s faithful.
Looking over the alter I found many writings in a strange and butchered form of common, possibly what some call undercommon, I will have to decode this for some time to get an actual answer. While looking over the top of the alter I noticed a well placed square with Four interlocking circles this was undoubtedly Ibrandul’s symbol. I managed to slay their religious leader as well; this may stop the flow of sacrifices to the dark goddess Shar for a time.

While looking over the lower levels of the ruins I happened upon a large cash of water oriented spells! Oh the Seldarine look over me, they must otherwise it was pure luck that I had found this! The secret room was astounding; it’s art on the walls untouched for centuries possibly more then a millennium ago. The floor echoes an ocean floor with shells from the ocean placed into the floor and socketed into the wall to form elaborate patterns. Adorning the wall to my left was a spring of crystal clear water, the statue of a dolphin is squirting it out in a most beautiful fountain made with shells and colored green, blue, and aqua tiles. I had heard the sound of water before in the lower portions of the ruin before but I did not thing a door would lead to this room.
To the wall in front of me stood a shelf filled with tome after tome after tome of spells written in elven dialects, some I have known from practice. Others I am not able to make heads or tails of. The ones I can read are filled with fast amounts of context about the god Deep Sashelas so this place more then likely doubled as a place or religious significance. Other tomes have information on the Elemental Plane of Water. This is a find I shall treasure for the rest of my long life. I took the time to carefully place the books into my magic bag and box.
I also located at which the origin of my newly acquired staff came from, it was a simple rack with two rusted iron spoke sticking out of the wall, not much of a place for a staff so beautiful. With that I placed a few offerings I read in the religious context of the books to place in the water for the god Deep Sashelas for thanks and to let no find go un-paid for here.

Delving into the deep depths of a goblin cavern, killing it’s hostile residence and delving deeper into it’s ruined area filled with un-worked walls and dim-lit areas by magical flames or possibly certain materials placed into the primitive torches to make it appear in a slightly green hew. I continued down the roughly worked stair-way seeing a pulse of green radiant light from inside an on-coming room. I made my way closer toward the green lit room; hearing sounds of dark whispers in simple guttural dialects in my head...”Kill...Murder...Kill in name of me....destroy...” it continued up until I reached the corner looking into the room seeing that it was a shrine most likely to an evil god, the cavern floor had many types of large mushroom species and fungus growing all over the walls, I noticed a few dormant large slimes. My guess is they were the guards of this shrine and would not take hostile action unless I tried to in any shape or form harm the shrine.
The alter has been smattered with blood and gore. The smell of insesns had also filled the room, at this point the smell would have been baked into the surrounding objects and walls, inside the pedestals were bones and meat they had been burned in scented oils before being placed in the insence. Above the small alter and passed the incense burners I noticed a cloth tabard stained with blood depicting Purplish eye on purple, violet, and black circles. I am not sure what to make of it but I got out from the eerie cave as fast as I couldThis symbol is not one I have ever seen before...*Below this a picture depicts the symbol* Page 12

Today I returned to the dark cavern, finding the goblins I slew before in a corner still rotting and their still living fellows running in fear from my presence. Down the unworked stone cavern walls and down the poorly worked stair case I went, the familiar purple hued torch light lighting my way down the poorly crafted hallway.
It was only then did I notice the entire portion of the cave had an eerie purple perpetual mist that waverd about the air. I noticed Oozes of all sizes scowering the floor for something to eat, I witnessed one devour a small mouse with feverish hunger. As I looked up ignoring the hunting habits of the small Ooze I noticed the room that had a pulsating green light now carried a slightly brighter purple light. As I neared the guttural demonic voices came back “Kill…Kill, Murder…Kill….Sacrifice….”
As I turned the corner of the cave I saw a horror that would make even the most seasoned adventurer soil him self. Their behind the alter and between the two incense burners loaded with fresh bones and food sat a large green Ooze. In front of the alter stood a being of un-imaginable fear. A DROW! He appeared to be the leader of this foul unholy congregation. His blood red eyes looked over the other faithful bowing before the alter and him.
His faith garb appeared the colorful sort with plum colored robe with a dark purple in a long thick streak down the front of the robe and green metal lining all over the robe. He wore a tabard of black with the same symbol on the tabard behind the alter. Again a I ran, surly a drow of such a maniacal dark faith is a problem indeed…
