Writing home in my journal in an attempt to send word of the going ons since arriving In Cormyr. Hope father is well and mother but the tales just seem to write themselves. The first being a fella named Evendur Teglelle who has a zest for nature as much as myself we explored the ruins with some rather slow moving undead and nasty smells even worse then Old Mera's dinners. Phew! The adventure was my first taste of excitement and look at death as Mister Brigand lay stiff and cold on the stones in the ruins. *small tear drop marks the page* After some heavy battles we made it out and with some fine coins to justify buying a better bow of sorts that old elm was weak you gave me father and the bowyers here are masterful at least in my eyes.
The pages turn quickly to the third entry:
My friend Aelia introduced me around town a bit and we got on with a band of adventurers heading to some haunted manor. The group included a stout fighter from some form of Lion organization a Seamus was his name decked out in blue fine attire with a great sword at his shoulder he proved to be too much for any of the undead to stop. good fella to have at your right or at least in front. Miss Lydia better known as Foxy who was the Lathanderite I spoke of on the second page of the journal. She was the leader and knew the manor more then anyone else. Must say she was blessed this day as she had the undead running scared and even at times crumple in death. Her mace seemed drawn to the undead like a firefly to the light in our very own woods. Siyl was a master of the magic arts dressed in fancy robes and whirling of spells. I was awestruck by her talents she could even become invisible to the eye even a keen one like myself. Treyton a type of fighter but I believe not his profession although I could be wrong was a secondary master of the shield and blade. He also had the daunting task of collecting the spoils of the adventure. Roland was an arcanist and had powers within that he seemed to hold back I believe to allow the rest of us some experience with the undead. he seemed confident in his ways and never for a moment seemed scared except the time a hound seemed to enter his mind but it seemed only momentary. Not sure what to make of him he had a rather scary looking dog that was friendly to me but seems miss Aelia had choice words for him and him her. I believe it is the dance of the fireflies for those two. The female spurs the male and further seems to push him away to only draw him perhaps closer. Must say not sure of the ways of love in this township but seems those two only ones seemed to notice each other.
As for the adventure we traveled to the west through the wilderness being tested by a band of Zhents which Seamus I believe correctly pretty much dealt with. We ventured past and into a pumpkin patch where there were animated scarecrows that seemed to enter my mind and take control of my movement. After several minutes I became myself and seemed to be over it. We entered the caretakers house and discovered maggot rot and the two had become some sorta undead perhaps caring for the undead themselves. We attained a key and headed into the manor. The hounds were plentiful and abundant around the manor was not until we reached the basement of the manor that things started to unravel. We discovered a large bath of blood which seemed to be fresh and the feeding ground for what was to come. We discovered a women who had be resting I believe and we surprised her and dispatched her rather quickly. Perhaps she was a resident before in the manor not sure. Before we could cheer our victory a man was apon us, Lord Z'orastyl himself a type of mage undead perhaps maybe even a luche one might say not sure on the ladder....he sprung evil tentacles from the ground that strangled miss Siyl before anyone could move apon his location. Seamus and miss Lydia brought down the hurt on him perhaps in vengeance for Siyl's death but nevertheless a death to the vile creature. Miss Lydia called apon her god to save miss Siyl and her prayers answered. never seen such displays of such power it was incredible to see divine intervention. We gathered ourselves up and headed to the exit. Apon the next few encounters the dogs started to drain most of us with there howls and our legs weakened. Although mister seamus had legs like an oaken trunk that was 500 years old he would not waver. Do believe he was the strength of five men possibly. as we ascended we were ambushed form behind by a pack of hounds that before we could move ripped apart miss Aelia ...perhaps I should leave this part out father but I was almost fatally bitten ,lay bleeding very badly but miss Lydia rushed to my aid. Once again a shining example for us all. A divine power was needed yet again for another but miss foxy did exactly that and brought back my own friend I had known till that point miss Aelia , glad to see her perky again. the trip back was rather mundane to most but I was relishing in the feat of such an adventure perhaps they well seasoned as it being my first adventure I could hardly forget a single detail. A ring was found that a fella in the local inn required and was happy to reward us for getting him. the collections of coins was more then I expected 167 coins. Have to wrap this up as i have been hired to deal with a few rats in the barn and the basement of the local inn here by Sam the cook.
Wish me well and hope you come soon to see me.
