As he lay dying at the edge of the camp, Kat'Jarri took small comfort knowing that even mortally wounded he had been able to dispatch the last of the bandits. Closing his eyes for what he thought would be the last time, he became aware of a rustling in the nearby undergrowth.
"What now I wonder, can't a man even die in peace in this place?" he thinks to himself. Opening his eyes he is alarmed to see a large bear nosing around the dead bodies of his enemies.
"Chauntea please guide your beast to finish me quickly...I have no desire to watch my innards be devoured this day* he quickly utters a breathless, near silent prayer. With that he passes out.
Awakening sometime later he is completely surprised to find himself laying by a small stream with fruit bushes growing within arms reach. A small distance away is the bear laying on the ground and snoring softly.
Reaching out weakly with one hand Kat'Jarri picks a berry and brings it to his mouth."My thanks Chauntea" he mutters weakly. So begins his long recovery...and the dawning of a new chapter in his life.
