*sigh* Could someone lock this thread please..it's become a rant!Sorry about it, but really theres not much else can be done. The issue of lag has been addressed by a DM so this'll be my last post in this thread so it can get locked but I've been bitched out by a DM for running in the kobold caves * when there are people doing things that are rediculous and OOC but since they're stood around typing up reams it must be good play.
*(which I ended up being told wasn't even because it was bad roleplay, its because it was stupid IC... why that warranted a shout to the server implying I'm a powergamer I'll never know)
Its a double standard to start verbally raping people for things like running in full plate (which is PERFECTLY within the realms of possibility, seen it done) and then not say anything to people stood in the pitch dark, cold, dead of night in Isinhold. Most of the characters LOOK like bandits so why the guard hasn't been and moved them along is just down to game mechanics, hence the rant.
I understand you're pressing for OOC considerations to improve your playing experience. That's a reasonable desire. However, there are RP considerations as well (both player-driven and DM-driven plots), and while some of that RP could be shifted over time away from Isinhold, it isn't likely to happen overnight. There is always going to be some roleplay, both character- and DM-driven in Isinhold, and I could promise you nothing else, but, at least from a DM perspective, we can attempt to steer it elsewhere.
Having been told that the lag caused by players can be significantly reduced just by players moving into more realistic IC and smaller locations it baffles me as to why they still don't. I wouldn't expect you or want you to move events out of Isinhold if thats where they're being held, its just silly, needless peripheral things that only happen through slack playing.
rant over, lock away
