Does it make sense for an archer to take specialization in the longbow? I belive the feat gives you a +2 on dam... so how would that work with a longbow... since it is the arrow that causes the damage? Thanks

To me it'd imply that you were so proficient with the longbow that you'd be able to place some very well aimed shots, thus...inflicting more damage per hit.
as to whether or not the feat actually gives the +2 dmg to the arrow on impact is not something I'm certain of tho...that combat window flies by way to fast for me to follow along heh.

I'm pretty sure that its +2 to attack bonus, Arcane archers get the ability to add enchantments to normal arrows at diffrent levels.
however. certain bows, composite ones have mighty +1-2-3 which will add your strength bonus to the damage.
I know Entori my wizard, gets 15 ab with his bow, and it has might +4 and he gets +3 to his damage cause of his strength modifer.
have a good day. Don

weapon specialization is solely +2 damage on every damage done with the bow. it gives nothing to AB
oh and i'd say i'd agree with thog on this one

Indeed, the best archers are made with fighter-classes

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. I thought it was what it should do, but when I exported the character to my own mod and (gave him a level) took the feat, I saw no additional +2 to dam. But, I will take your guys word for it.
Who has used blindfighting? What do you think of the feat?
Thanks

Blind Fighting is another great Feat. Those pesky Ogre Shamans and such that go invis .... just run up to where ya saw them last .... now you can sense them. Gives you a fighting chance if someone (drow mainly) casts darkness and closes. You can only "sense" the enemies adjacent to you ... but it does help. It also eliminates any attack bonuses against you for being blinded or in the dark.

Also supposedly you reroll the percentile when you miss first time against concealment but I think that aspect of it doesn't work really good.
None of my chars have it currently, so perhaps someone else could enlighten us if this actually works.

Blindfighting is very nice when you battle concealed/invisible foes
