Hi FRC Building Team ;D This past week I observed that four of my favorite 'quiet' places have been made unaccessable to PCs. By quiet I mean somewhat out of the way areas off the beaten path that have no monsters spawning on top of PCs. Most of these areas are scenic and have been very condusive to good roleplay in my experience. I'd like to raise a request as the module nears its full maturity that areas like these not be done away with or replaced with monster-full areas. It is nice to have these places to visit when getting out of town and not wanting to fight monsters at every turn. Please consider keeping them accessible Thanks for reading!

Dear players, FRC is very low on space. From experience, when we hit a certain threshold (in terms of MB), the server basically goes to hell with lag and all other forms of nasties. As such, we will have to make sacrifices in effort to bring you content that everyone can enjoy, be that new dungeons, items, NPCs, merchants, or monsters. At this point of time, we are critically near that very limit, so if you would rather have some nice quiet empty spot (which I might add, there still is plenty of those around) in favor of content, I can certainly accommodate to that as well

Would it help if players could report placeables and such that are just kind of in odd places..that are totally useless? I know of at least one footstool in a place where no one would sit in it I am pretty sure DM Greenhouse put all those useless placeables in, he probably stole the gnomes clothes in the caravan shop at skull crag as well. And if I decide to modify my statement again after posting in a D&M Q&A section, I might just ask for an xp hit

I'd rather have the quiet places, particularly if it involves restoring Isinhold to its original dimensions.

I seem to be suffering from a rare form of mental disease that doesn't allow me to comprehend that I'm not suppose to hijack other people's query on the DM Q&A.

*coughs as she modifies the title of the post to include the DM Q&A part so that no one else will post on the thread save the original poster and/or DMs as it's stated in the guidelines atop the DM Q&A forum*
;D
I'm all for quiet spots, but I'm also for a server that will run smoothly. It's one of those nasty balance things that, unfortunately, just can't be overlooked.
If you do find a placeable thats.. well.. seems out of place you can post it over in the Nit Pics thread under the Bugs and Issues section. Every little bit helps.

I am going to add to what jen said.
Removing 1 placeable from an area is not feasible or efficient. If you are going to post, please make sure that you scour the ENTIRE area to make sure that there isnt anything else that can be removed. From a builder perspective, if you tell me there is a table that could be removed I am much less likely than if you say half the placeables in redmist can be removed.

This isn't a matter of opinion as more of what needs to be done.
To put it bluntly, the module is near to full of stuff. So in order to put anything new in, some things need to be sacrificed. Given a choice between open space that isn't used to space that is used, you have to go with the used space.
There is no discussion to be had about it.
And, moul, please refrain from posting here any more. If you have something to say about it, PM a DM that has posted here instead.
