I have pondered many things and I came across one more to ponder. Is, and if not why, it acceptable to be a cleric to two closely aligned deities. Seeing as it is acceptable to worship multiple gods, why not serve those whose doctrines compliment each other. Also the same question for Paladins wroking under two deites that are closely aligned. Just curious.

An example would be like any two or maybe all from the triad, these three work so hand in hand that they would be the best candidates for a double priest. Particualrly tyr and torm.

Not acceptable as the powers of a cleric are granted to them by a single diety. Some dieties doctrines and dogmas may compliment one another, but they are not exact.
As in your own example, Tyr is a god of law while Torm is a god of paladins. Paladins adhere to a code of conduct that is upstanding, but if it came to a point where the cleric had to do something that was against the laws of the land in order to do good (i.e slay an evil Cormyrian nobleman on the spot, but in the eyes of the law it's considered murder) then that cleric has done something that Torm would approve of, but Tyr would not.
Now, a cleric may certainly approve of other dieties doctrines and dogma, but if it ever came to a split difference between one or the other the cleric would be expected to stick to the dogma of the diety that gave them the gifts they have.

K, thanks for making all that clear. That would have opened the door a great number of exploits probably anyhow.
