A notice to the guards in Greatgaunt

*a letter is left with one of the guards in Greatgaunt, it's written with strong handwriting, a spot or two shows the quill had punctured through the parchment but it's all legible*
To the Guards of Greatgaunt,
My name is Edynislava Feralburrow and I am a Shield and Fist of Yondalla. I wish to warn of a fiendish presence I found within the Bramblewood.
In an area beyond a calm pool to the north east of town there is a cavern where bugbears have occupied a cave. Within this cave in its farthest chambers I had found a circle of runes etched into the ground. It seems the bugbear shamans had crafted it. I had dispatched the aggressive bugbears and as I was inspecting the chamber the circle came alive with magic and it summoned a fiendish dire badger!
As per the Protector's will I fought the fiend and sent it back to the realm from where it came. Though defeated, I could sense just beyond the veil the howls and growls of things far fiercer and more powerful. Praying to my goddess I pleaded with her to grant me power to close the portal. She blessed the moment with her divine power and sealed the doorway closed. The howls and growls were silenced. Praise be the Nurturing Matriarch for her protection!
I do not know if this portal will remain closed. Even as I departed, more of the bugbear's ilk came out of the woods to strike. Perhaps in time I or others will inspect these cavers again and make certain that this foul runic circle is permanently dismantled. For now, I can only report my findings.
If there are any questions just send note to the Hin Fist Monastery in Shallybrook and I shall return as swiftly as I can to Greatgaunt.
