Cooper walked throughout Arabel, Dhedluk and Waymmot placing well made parchment posters in high pedestrian traffic areas and local dining and adventuring establishments. Nodding to himself satisfied, he returned to the Elfskull Inn and spoke with another trader from the north, buying him food and wine so he was more forthcoming with information.

Sitting the in the Elfskull Inn Cooper listened as another grain trader talked of "black blight" on grain. If his suspicions were right he would have to head north into the Stonelands with a group of like minded folk who would help him seek out the source of this grain rot sooner rather than later.
Sitting back in the padded chair he started to put pen to paper once the merchant thanked him for the meal and wrote to the Lady Lord.

Gathering a group of intrepid adventurers Cooper set forth to try and discover the source of the grain rot, learning the source was likely the Zhents somehow “poisoning” the grain with some kind of magics unknown to the traders and likely hoping to put strain on Arabel or at least the caravan routes. Passing by the Stonelands he pointed out Furins strip mine, where the stout dwarf had been mining rock since the fall of Cloudstone. Cooper told the others he was currently dealing with him in hopes of establishing a solid rock supply from a trusted source to help rebuild the city at a fair cost. Checking in on the Stonelands Orcs as they passed Cooper asked if any untoward caravans had passed through… Getting nearer to the keep and staying roughly on the travelled path used by travelers and bandits alike, he collected this and that as they travelled, spotting anything unusual and collecting it in his rune covered bags. Wondering if there was some way the perpetrators were using stealth to sabotage the caravans he checked low lying passes sometimes used by those who wanted to cut travel times down and make more coin at the risk of banditry. Using the parties incredible ability to work coherently as a group and stealthy as a cat on deep grass, he scouted the outer supply areas searching for clues. Getting to some of the outer areas of the encampment he searched through logs and ledgers for clues while the others kept watch until it was time to make a hasty exit lest they be caught. Fortuitously on the return he bumped into none other than the dwarf he had been bartering with for stone to help rebuild the walls and buildings. Noticing he was with his trusty Golem “Diggy” who he helped use for mining he briefly talked about the agreement he was proposing and indicated they should meet over a meal to discuss it further. With the rock being similar to that of Arabel it made sense to use the same kind to rebuild where possible.
