*A letter is left under the door of the forge in Thunderstone one evening after Khondar closes for the night*
Master Khondar,
I have spent my life honing my forge craft. From humble beginnings making horse shoes to smelting now smithing mithril and adamantine into fine works of arms and armor. However, the Wandering Tinkerer teaches us to never settle and keep exceeding, pushing for new discoveries. It is my hope, under your guidance, that you aid me with my next undertaking.
I have recently come across some very rare material, black dragon scales. I did not slay this creature however. It was a gift from a loved one, encouraging me to pursue something more than the every day tasks I have been accustom in recent months. You're craft is known across all of Faerun and it is my hope that, if time permits it, you can teach me how to craft works using the scales of these magical creatures. Perhaps one day I may create something unique that Dugmaren Brightmantle can be proud of.
I rarely stay in one place for too long but you may leave word at the inn here in Thunderstone if you wish to meet and bless me with some tutelage. I will return to Thunderstone as often as possible and check in with master Boris Elberwelter for your eagerly awaited response.
May your beard grow long and grey, Bunar, last of Clan Grairn.
