Didi and the Emerald Eye
A tale by DOT , shug , and unas...
the rp to craft a heavy mace to replace a standard crafted mace in game. DM Hawk and other dms/edms team cc'd for their reference. (in game appearance that would need to be created by a dm/edm in toolset for transfer in game)

Didi had traveled and visited the various cities of the Forest Kingdom. Being the judicious consumer that she was, she wanted to ensure that she was only afforded the best. Within each city, she stayed a few days, and within those few days she familiarized herself with the local shops, more specifically, the local smithies.
Out of all of them that were available to her, the one that stood out the most was the smithy in the city of Arabel. Arabel is a trade city, a central hub for the roadways that crisscross the kingdom, certainly this was something that would meet the Merchant King's approval? Despite the adversity the city faced, the smithy was so skilled that they could source materials and craft works of art that stood a head above others. It was with this success through adversity that Didi new, even in times of peace, this was the smithy where her coin would be well spent.
She demanded a fine craft of dwarven steel... a material that only the stout folk could work. For this she also needed to source a fine dwarven smith to work their craft within Arabel's smithy. She sourced two contacts, Shug Hammerfell and Delvar 'Red' Hammerhand. She wrote to them of her request, and awaited their arrival to review the smithy and see if it would meet his needs to craft her a heavy mace befitting a Hurndor of the Deep Kingdom.
She had a rough design in mind, and put her thoughts into letter and drew out an image of the item...
Emerald Eye "This formidable heavy mace, its surface adorned with intricate gilded runes, transcends mere functionality. It is not merely a weapon but a symphony of artistry—a harmonious blend of gold, dwarven steel, and gemstone, befitting a Hurndor of Vergadain. At the base of its pommel is a gold coin of the Merchant King, ready to stamp an imprint into the foreheads of its wielder's enemies. The embedded gem, akin to captured starlight, beckons to the eye, promising wealth and fortune. Yet, woe befalls any foe who dares linger too long upon its mesmerizing beauty..."
What changes there might be, would be anyone's guess. Didi was a skilled engineer and architect, but smithing of weaponry was something a bit out of her area of expertise. She managed to source a bar of dwarven steel, a nugget of gold that appeared out of divine providence, and an assortment of green gems. Perhaps this was enough? Only they would really know.
It was high noon now, and the local market was humming with trade. Didi would shop around and haggle with merchants for the fun of it, occasionally looking up to see if they had arrived.

In the depths of Thrymgavin Delvar receives a letter from Didi, a friend of old when he first arrived in Cormyr and used to wander the whereabouts of Greatgaunt.
He opens it, while apreciates a bottle of Dwarven Tripple Bock he once received from Bao Gur the last time he visited his place. Trying to avoid Bilmfisen's jealous eyes, he sits by the bar in the upper quarters of the Hold, attempting to hide such bottle while starts to read the missive.
After a couple of minutes, he then asks the gnome to handle him some ink and paper, and a writing feather. The gnome, with suspicious eyes, provides the material, but not before a quick word:
-You know that the orc does not have the same cleaning standards as mine right?
So Delvar replies: -Nay be silly Bilm, ye know da lad can brew properly! After all, yer jealousy nay fits ye.
The gnome frowns and goes back to his doings, then Delvar starts to write his response.
Written in perfect Dethek, such is the letter:
Hello cousin!
Its been a while I do not see you, I hope everything is going fine for you!
About your request on your project, of course I can help you with! Just tell me the day and place, I will prepare my tools and materials specially for you. You must know now I am retired from crafting for regular folks, in exception of special comissions from friends and kin (you checks for both). I will dust my forging hammer and wear my appron, get my belly on a forge fire specially for you, it will be a pleasure and honor!
Again, just send me the "whens" and "wheres"!
Your longtime friend,
-Red
----
Delvar closes the letter and wax it with his trading signature ring: a dethek rune translated to the word Red inside a circle, and around that circle, externally at the bottom part the words Hammerhand's Custom Crafts™
