Having read the rules for naming characters, I am left with one point that requires some clarification before diving in. In choosing a name for our character, may we use one of these pre-established surnames from canon as long as we are considered commoners?www.enworld.org/wiki/cormyreansurnames/The link above is a list of Cormyrian surnames. I am interested in being a Rallyhorn since I am making a Paladin of Lathander... but I am content to have him be an illegitimate bastard with no connection to his family. There are some names on the list without noble lineage that I would consider as a substitute, but Rallyhorn just fits the character concept so perfectly. (His only family will be the church of Lathander and he is far too humble for the noble life.) I will not copy any preexisting character, I just want to use a "real" Cormyrian name for better RP immersion/integration.

Hello Randers , Thank you for the question, and that's an interesting resource I've never seen before The list of surnames that are designated for Nobility with an * or for Royalty with an ** would not be appropriate for a player who is supposed to be common-born. But the other names with no * or ** appear suitable for this purpose. Excerpt from Server Rule 21 Expanded - Character Creation RulesI hope that helps answer your question.
