The Cloven Shield, Marsember. (present date)
To whom it may concern.
I had not intended to write this letter, simply because I doubt it will have much effect in regard to redress the wrongdoings of the person involved. However, a person I hold in high respect convinced me to at least try, arguing that nothing bad could come from it.
I hereby accuse Edward Lorkus, the Thayan wizard called Akkarin, and the woman known as Dawn, of assault, murder, abduction and torture.
After having traveled with Dawn to Shallybrook in good faith, I was confronted with Akkarin and Edward Lorkus, and several of their companions. Dawn immediately joined with these. They insisted I followed them to Redmist for questioning. This I refused, stating if they had any questions they wished to ask, they could do it where we were. When they became threatening, I got the attention of the sheriff of Shallybrook, whom after a short discussion ordered them to leave. They complied to the Sheriffs order, and left Shallybrook.
After these events, I booked passage with a caravan traveling to Suzail. In the foothills of the Stormhorns, close to orc-territory, the caravan was attacked by several persons who's identity it was not possible to determine. The other people traveling with the caravan were all slain out of hand, and chopped to pieces. At this point i was knocked unconscious.
I awoke, blindfolded, while being placed on a rack. There was several people present, but the only voice I recognized was that of Dawn. I was then subjected to torture, while being asked questions, mostly regarding the Evergreens and a certain artifact. I remember very clearly at one point Dawn stated to one of the other interrogator's that I was lying. Finally I was asked questions as to my own membership, and eventually a suggestion was put forward, that if I'd follow a series of clues, I'd be able to find an organization "more suited for me". Shortly after I passed out.
I awoke in a caravan traveling toward Suzail, the worst of my injuries taken care off by a fellow traveler. I found on my body a note, that seemed to the first of the mentioned clues.
I spend the following days seeking out these clues, which eventually brought me face to face with Edward Lorkus once more, in a manor in Redmist. During the following exchange, he admitted openly that it was he who had been torturing me, which was my main objective when I set out to follow these clues. Eventually when he realized I'd not join his organization, he challenged me and we fought. He defeated me, and he threw me out after that. I left Redmist, having gotten the confirmation I was after.
If there are further questions, or points that needs to be clarified, I can be reached at Umberlee's shrine in Marsember, or in The Cloven Shield, same city.
