Sirs,
As a merchant intending to offer moneylending services within Cormyr, several issues are of concern to me and I would love for them to be clarified before I begin business.
The first - what kind of merchant taxes are imposed within Cormyr, and what sort of licensing or registration process should a law abiding merchant go through to establish himself officially with the Crown?
The second - what are the laws of contract here in the realm of Cormyr? What are the steps I would have to take to make a written agreement legally binding in the eyes of the crown? The reason I ask is, obviously, as a moneylender, I need the guaruntee that the arrangements into which I have entered are valid and legal, so as to recieve the proper actions and recompense in the case of a client reneging on their debt.
Once I am familiar with these protocols I am sure I can set up my moneylending business with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of profit to all concerned, including the Crown. Included herein is a hamper of the finest Sembian wine, honey glazed venison, cheeses and breads as a gift to show my good intent and appreciation of the Crowns speedy resolution of this matter.
Yours truly,
Khondar Crownshield, Merchant, Moneylender.
