Graz’zt, the Dark Prince One of the most powerful demons n all the Abyss, Graz’zt is lord of three layers of that plane. He is tall, darkly handsome with shiny black skin and green, glowing eyes. Graz’zt dresses in regal finery, but his slightly pointed ears and yellow fangs mark him for the demon he is. Most striking of all are his digits, He has six ebony fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.
Tales are told among common folk that a dark skinned fiend sometimes visits witches and sorcerers, granting them both sexual favors and magical powers. Graz’zt is the truth of that legend. A deeply sexual, erotic being, the Dark Prince never goes anywhere without a retinue of female monsters – usually lamias, succubi or maraliths. He is dangerously charming and seductive, and he speaks with such eloquence and grandeur that one might think him a devil, not a demon.
Graz’zt has long been in a state of war with both Demogorgon and Orcus. At one point, he had the upper hand in the conflict, but he was suddenly summoned to the Material Plane by Zagyg, the mad archmage. There he was imprisoned and subjugated until he was able to win his freedom at the cost of being imprisoned on his own plane for a time. No one knows if he is still under the restriction or not – and he is certainly not telling.
Graz’zt’s symbol is a black, six fingered hand.
The Cult The cult of Graz’zt is small, except among certain monstrous races such as lamias, where his cultists and powerful. Most priests of Graz’zt, also known as the Chosen, are female, and the highest-ranking cleric in a temple is always female.
Graz’zt enjoys blood sacrifices made in his name, and sexual rites are important in services dedicated to him as well. His temples are dark, secluded places where orgies are common. Some section of the temple is often shrouded in magical darkness. From there, clerics use create undead on sacrificial victims to bring forth shadows that guard the temple.
Clerics affiliated with Graz’zt generally have access to the Demonic, Evil, and Darkness Domains. They tend to wear black clothing and favor silver jewelry. Most carry a wavy blade of some sort.
~The Book of Vile Darkness
The Cult of Graz’zt in Cormyr The cult, as with the master, prizes cunning and guile over brute strength in all applications. Secrecy is paramount, especially given Cormyr’s penchant for goodliness and lawfulness. Graz’zt wishes to further his position and influence in the Forest Kingdom through a combination of infiltration and carefully organized discord.
Membership is a highly guarded secret clouded in almost as much mystery and darkness as the Dark Prince himself. As all such secrets must be protected, membership in the Cult is a lifetime commitment, with internal subterfuge and mutiny being a certain route to a place of honor upon the altar, as the sacrificial knife-holder.
Though the Cult is not one to turn away potential membership, a penchant for the lawlessly evil is preferred in the service of a demon. Moreover, the profession of one in service of the Dark Prince is often (but not limited to): Bard, Cleric, Sorceror, Wizard. Those looking to elevate themselves within the ranks of the faithful often follow to the Canon of the Cult more closely becoming Thralls to Graz’zt, Blackguards in his service, and Assassins to carry out his plots. Though this is not a comprehensive list, deeds in the Prince’s service are always recognized, and failure is just as harshly rewarded. _________________

Before anyone gets any ideas, Graz'zt does not grant divine spells in FR, therefore dont run out and roll up a cleric. This doesnt mean you can follow him in a cult like fashion....

How come? THis actually appears to be a pretty good hook for a plot ^_^ why bother with the classic Banite and Cyric cultist when a demon prince is interested too?

How come?
A) because a DM just said so....
B) because Graz'zt is not a diety who can grant spells in the FR setting. you can be a 'cultist' but you cannot be a Cleric of Graz'zt. (as DM Grozer's post stated clearly)
C) See points 'A' and 'B'

Well yeah true. ;D I guess a cult would be interesting at least, Insted of Clerics running the cult sacrafices Wizards and sorcerers would ^_^
And Graz'zt COULD have the possiblility if he COULD gain devine status of have the portfolios of Sex, Seduction. THis also presents the idea Graz'zt may have more bastard children than any other demon prince XD

I wonder if Graz'zt would ever be able to obtain a divine status. Much like Bophmet, Gargauth, or Yeenoghu. As found in the link below my new Signature it reads that he has the ability to take on many othe Demi-gods and could have the possibility of obtaining a small divine rank, but I wonder why he does not. And the cult worship of Demons and Devils is more interesting often times ;D

Just curious then. If he's clouded in secrecy and the membership of his cult is as well, just how well known would he be? Or how much would be known about him?

His high "preistess" would know, generally Demon princess and Devil Lords are not well known to common folk, only people who have knowledg of the arcan and have spells that can acess them to the planes, they then might form a cult to him and inform people of this "being of high power" but it's not like a fighter, rogue, or ranger and especially not a barbarian would have knowledg of his existance.
And hopfully somthing along the lines of a cult for Graz'zt can be made in FRC2 since more players are now moving out of NWN1 I doubt it would be any use to start a cult to him now ;D lol

That is posted in that thread, if you would read it.
It is also posted that the demon/devil has to agree to grant spells, so it is very personal, unlike a deity, whom a level 1 cleric isn't likely to meet. Since only DMs should be operating demon princes/devil lords, that means it falls to only characters specifically involved with an NPC demon/devil controlled by a DM to ever be in a situation where they can even ask to become a cleric of the demon/devil.
No, you cannot ask a DM to possess a demon/devil for the sole purposes of your character selling his/her soul to said fiend.

Well duh XD lol my characters rarley hit level 5 on FRC (Moslty since I rarley find a character that suits me and is interesting enough to continue with due to limmited choices in character creation) my character would be wiped off the face of the computer world if they saw a Demon or Devil XD "Whats tha?-*BOOM*" XD lol
Demon or Devil cults will take on lower level members but they are often used for the cutls suicide squads, the cannon foder when an enemy fights the cult

What that means is don't make a character with plans of becoming a cleric of a demon prince/devil lord, because the opportunity to make the deal with the fiend may never arise and certainly won't arise by request.
To put it bluntly, while it is possible in Faerun that a character could make a deal with a fiend for divine spellcasting, on FRC it is not encouraged, incredibly unlikely, and DM-controlled.

I agree, sides what looks better, speding your afterlife with your deity, are handing your arse over to a devil or demon XD I for one would rather enjoy leaving in my deities realm in my afterlife then be shackled up and having hot pokers put up my-*Technical difficulties screen appears playing some classic music*
;D
