Foresters, charcoalers and adventurers all report running across strange black dead trees. There is often the scent of decay and the trees appear to be broken dripping a fetid black sap. Those sorts wise in the way of plants say that the injury to the tree was the result of an unsuccessful graft. In some trees the injuries take on the appearance of something bursting free from the heart of the plant. The trees are always found withmany brittle dry leaves nearby. The dead leaves swirl about constantly even when the wind is still.

*Marister frowned as he saw the devastation in the Bramble. He would report this to the circle.*

A gnome wanders through, looking for some of these rumored trees to examine; if he finds any that seem to have been unnaturally afflicted, he calls upon the Masked Leaf to Bless them. He also tries to find signs of any local Feyfolk who might be able to provide information.

Judain made his way exploring through the Bramblewood, taking note of trails and growing places of new flora. Taking notice of the corruption, he tried to recall if any of his druidic training had gone over why or how a creature would attempt something like this. Musing over it for several more moments, he pulled a piece of jerky from his bag and fed his companion, a very patient bear who gobbled up her well deserved treat. "So this is what they were talking about... I wonder what more may come of it."

Several eye-witness accounts confirm the presence of dead trees bleeding a fetid black sap that appear suddenly one night. Many of the area druids have issued that any such trees seen are to be burnt to ash. Other grim tales circulate now, speak of wood-wise folk whop vanish never to be heard of again.
Even the goblin tribes patrols seem fewer in number and far larger as if frightened goblins are banding together for protection against something in the woods.
