Surname: Hojo First Name: Honjo Nicknames: Hoho, Jojo, Jo, Honi
Born of Cormyr to an immigrant mother from Kozakura and a local Chondathan father, Hoho lived most of his youth in a cramped and yet unnamed district of Marsember, the city of spices. His features were too eastern looking for westerners, and too western looking for easterners, Hoho more often than not stood out in whatever group he happened to be in.
Most everyone wants to belong, how difficult then to feel some exclusion from not one but two groups of people... still Hoho would make every effort to be an outstanding citizen and to be a welcoming friend for that very reason.
The yet unnamed district, a small and cramped district in northern Marsember inhabited primarily by Shou and other immigrants that travelled the spice trade route, the Golden Way. (ooc: theme music of when Hoho is in the family home within the district)
Meanwhile in Marsember... Hoho swears an oath and is now officially a member of the Cormyrean Freesails and the Alliance of Freesailors. He watches the stars twinkle as the sun disappears over the horizon... the sound of bawdy songs reach his ears from a nearby tavern. He smiles faintly.
Although Hoho is not a master of a weapon yet, and he is able to use all weapons with effectiveness, he tends to favor using a Katana and a Tessen.
The pair he currently used are well-made by a local smith, but certainly Hoho has plans for something greater. On his person, he carries the design schematics for a pair... even going so far as to already name them.
Wishful thinking? Perhaps, but one must dream first.
Tessen: Fujin - a warfan that carries the essence of the wind, used defensively to parry projectiles and deflect incoming blows not too dissimilar from a shield.
Katana: Raijin - a blade that carries the essence of lightning, folded metal, very durable and light with a razor edge.
The sound of the stream below brought Jojo a sense of peace. He would often come to this hill in the border town of Greatgaunt for his dawn prayers to Torm. Earlier he donated 1000 lions to the local temple on the hill. He had also spent the prior week stopping at local temples of other faiths if they require assistance with anything, guard, a quest, perhaps even just to provide a friendly chat.
Now he asked for guidance, what would be his next step and how best could he be of service to others?
Duty requires sacrifice of self. What self is, is often open to interpretation. What is often not open to interpretation is the answer often received for fulfilling one's Duty.
ooc: I like to support local artists. The image above was something I commissioned, created by a friend and how they interpreted the in game screen shot of Hoho/Jojo. You can see his art (and commission them) here.
