The night was cool for spring, the fog rolled in from the Wyvernwater as it has so many times. Yet there was a feeling in the air.
The locals gathered in the inn for their usual brew, and rumor mongering.
"Not seen a fog like this in three seasons."
"Did you hear about old lady Helena? Says she saw her husbands wandering about the house." "Husbands?" "Aye...all three of them. Says they were fighting and what not." "Ain't they been in the grave these past years?" "That's what heard."
"That's nothing. Did you see the knight? I swear, heading home the other night, was a big black knight on a horse from the hells, riding through the city. Ask Bartrand, he was there. He came down from the north gate and just dissappeared by the Thunderstone Mansion. Strangest thing I ever did see."
The evening wore on, the chatter turned to muttering, then the locals headed to their homes. Not a one left by themselves.

It is a late summer evening in Immersea. The shopkeeps have hung their signs and headed home, the taverns were just getting active. There is no moon on this particular night.
A lone ship puts into port, her sails look as if she has seen the worse of one of the many storms on the Dragonmere. Battered and beaten, she limps her way to the dock. Her crew disembark, some thankful for solid ground, others eager for the nearest tavern.
While yet others, a small group, cloaked against the night, approach the Harbormaster. Quiet conversation, and a few bags of gold are exchanged. This small group then heads back onto the ship, and begin unloading various crates, barrels, and chests. A wagon arrives, and they load up the wagon with the remaining goods. It then heads through the city, and out one of the gates...
