A report from Antinua Orthorion to the Red Ravens.
I have been involved in the tracking of two of the disappearing novice mages;
The first was the disappearance of Lenthin whom we were searching for on behalf of Jasper from one of the Academies of Shallybrook. Vincent, Meesha, a human woman in white and blue whos name at present escapes me, and myself gathered information and learned he was a farmhand for Goodman. We traveled south and he had apparently let the boy go early the previous day because he was excited about a paper he had received, no doubt his acceptance. After speaking with Giselle and learning more about Lenthin we went south to the crossroads where we found aged signs of an unusual teleportation spell. After inspecting the surroundings we could glean no more and were left with merely more questions.
The second disappearing novice mage was much more subtle. Elianna, Hadriane and myself had traveled east and then south to the Shrine of Eldath to enjoy the beautiful scenery as I have oft professed to want to see more of the beautiful sights in Cormyr. After enjoying the sights we left through the maze of woods to the east of the Shrine of Eldath and upon leaving encountered a large group of thugs. Hearing a scream and seeing a flash past the thugs we approached and were immedietly attacked by the group, after dispatching them all we inspected the scene of the latest translocation. It was unusual but bore the same marks on the ground as the first instance. Again we were left with questions, however this time Elianna tracked the footprints back towards Greatgaunt discovered that the thugs had joined with a pair of people, one with sandals not far from the crossroads. Upon reaching Goodman's farm we spoke with him and learned a Matthew Maddison along with a pedlar whom he described as 'hooded, nervous fair built but ragged wearing socks and sandals'. Apparently Matthew Maddison had been accepted into a Mystic Lodge of Savras although Goodman seemed uncertain on the name.
The only common thread I have noticed thus far is that both abductions have lured novice, prospective mages south of Greatgaunt and then teleported them abruptly. Lenthin was a local and presumably Matthew was traveling to the Mystic Lodge and thus was foreign to the area, an easy target for whomever is behind this and it was a matter of luck that we discovered his disappearance. This is all the information I and my compatriots have managed to gather on these events thus far but I hope it helps.
Signed, Antinua of the Orthorion family, priestess of Angharradh.
