"She thinks she is special.. I can see it in her eyes." The man complains as the moon light bounces off the alley walls to reveal his discouraged features.
The hooded archer leans back against the brick wall, arms folded while she listens.
"Why should I tell you all this? I'll pay you well and just.. " The noble grunts, "Make her disappear."
That signature thumb jerks to her sleek garb, " I don't friggin just 'make her disappear' without a good reason. I don't care how much you gonna pay me."
"An Assassin with a conscience?"
"An Assassin with a code. Do you want a senseless killer do this job? Go ahead and that Assassin will turn aim, it's arrow pointed at you." An index prods the noble in the chest, "It's my way.. or the highway, yah?"
"Alright.. Alright, I just didn't..."
"Hey? She has family?" Leah interrupts, " You off her and the family returns fire. You pulling my arrows from the target?"
"Good point. I suppose if her family got suspicious.." The man ponders a moment.
"We gotta make it look an accident. Sure, I can pluck her eyeballs out from a hundred paces, but that's no good in this situation. Now, what did she do to deserve death?" A dark brow lofts curiously.
The man lowers his eyes to a puddle of water, taking in his own reflection as clouds and Selune peer from above, "She had cheated on me, walked around me.. she knows no bounds to her deceit and betrayal. A divorce will ruin my reputation and she knows it.. just laughs in my face ."
"This means you both are married, to each other, right? 'Cuz if you aren't, this is a no go. Contracts are important and broken contracts deserve punishment." The Archer's hood shuffles in a confident nod.
"We are married, I can prove it."
"I'll take your word, because if I find out you aren't married.."
"I .. I understand. We are married."
"Good."
The man slides out a few platinum bars from his pack, "Cormyrian platinum as requested."
Leah's gloved hands reach out and smooth over the glimmering surface of her payment before shoving them neatly in her pack. With a bow of her head, those shadowed lips curl in approval.
"How are you going to do this, Miss?" The husband inquires, gazing to the Assassin's smile.
"It would be better if you were surprised to hear of your Wife's death, yah?"
"That.. that sounds like a better plan."
"Go about your life.." The Westhavian turns on a heel and saunters towards the darkness that envelopes the alley.
"Excuse me.. Miss? One last thing? I know we won't meet again, but.. just her right? You aren't going to do anything to her family?"
"Ha.." The Assassin looks over her shoulder with a smirk, "Nah, They won't die. They'll just suffer."
"Suffer?"
"That's the way 'she' likes it."
"She?" The noble tilts his head curiously.
Leah two finger salutes back over her shoulder and slips into the shadows...
