Hey, something happened today that raised this question for me. I was journeying with another char in the crypt north of redmist. We specifically went to the lower levels straight away realizing we were too high level for the upper area. We made it all the way to the end with nothing amiss, at which point we were STRONGLY encouraged to leave. I'm absolutely cool with that, and i really respect the way it was done. I got killed but the dm was kind enough to let my companion stay alive and raise me. We got the message and got the heck out of there, but this is my question.
At what point does level make for powergaming? I ask this because even up to level 15 and 16 i couldn't even pass the first room of the lower level. It takes everything taran has got just to survive those skeleton warriours. I teamed up with another char who's also pretty strong, and we still both got pummeled and nearly died just by the regular enemies there, and we were both fully protected. so were we asked to leave simply because of our level? I can respect that if so, but i hope we not looked on as powergaming simply because of that, because regardless of level, that is still a place taran can barely get through. any thoughts and responses are welcome, and see ya ig! (oh, my level was 18 at the time the soul render kindly asked us to leave).

That crypt has been abused time and time again. That's all I can say about that.

I know the mistwood crypt was abused over and over but not the northern one. And 18 does seem a little high for that crypt

Yes it was levels. When I happened by you guys were breezing through, and I know the very first encounters are hard to get through..but the rest...
The encounters I added were on par, yet still a little under the party levels combined.
(Well, except the Soul Render....kind of a...signature spawn..to let you know who was there. He is however....beatable, but not easily... ;D)

no worries, this definitely wasn't a complaint. guess i'll be steering clear of there now however, (though now i want to beat a soul render) THANKS
