(ALSO I REALIZE MY NAME IS HARD TO TYPE SO I WILL LOGIN AS DM HEC SINCE MAKES IT MUCH EASIER FOR EVERYONE!)
What to Expect: Hecatoncheires have many heads and many hands... and I will try to use them all to enhance players experience while they explore through FRC. This could mean as little of a change as just the NPC merchant making small talk while the player sells off goods...to as large of changes where Premade quest (anything from the Well area quest in GG to the Undead quest in Thunderstone) could feel and be completely different...even midway through your journey.
DM Hec's House Rules:
(Procured from some of the other DMs)
Subdual and non-lethal damage: To attempt to subdue or grapple with someone, roll strength. Please don't attack and deal damage when trying to overpower someone without hurting them.
Communication with Animals: Sylvan is the language of magical woodland creatures who can speak, such as dryads and pixies. Druidic is the secret language of druids. There is not a universal language of animals. Most animals do not have a language other than body language, posturing, smells, and sounds (but not words). Some animals have a language, such as whales or dolphins, but they are unique to the species and a person usually doesn't have a chance to pick up their language token.
Summoning Monsters and Creatures: If the creature summoned would be native to Faerun, you've summoned a creature from Faerun. If the creature is planar such as an elementals, fiends, and celestials the caster is bringing a being into his or her presence from another plane. All summoned creatures feel pain and will remember their wounds. Those that are native to the world and slain while summoned are dead. Those called from the planes and slain while summoned are banished from the world with the bitter memory of their defeat and suffering.
Teleport and Mass Teleport: These spells offer a vast array of utility, but can occasionally break some challenges. While I will not outlaw their use, and often support it, I would ask that its practitioners let me know when they intend to use it. Some areas may have wards to dimension-lock and prevent their use within bounds, or using it in some situations may carry a unique added risk to missfire. Use at your own risk
