He will never start a conversation if not introduced first, or approached.
Delvar loves to eat roasted boar and drink dwarven ale. He is always using his oaken carved pipe to appreciate some Dale's herbs, his preferred.
Background: Delvar was born in Sundabar, son of Ummar Hammerhand and Hilda Crackedanvil. He spent most of his fisrt years at the mines and forges learning the crafting art, since his father was a famous smith. The Hammerhands are well known for their excellent work in metals. Thats why Delvar is a good armor crafter, though his ability to forge a blade is not too good.
In his youth, he enlisted in Sundabar's army and learned the ways of the battlefields. There he was taught the techniques to fight orcs, goblins and giants using a dwarven axe and shield. It was there he met Gruna Ironside, that he married years before. They happened to have a son, Beldar Hammerhand.
Years later, during his serving in King Bruenor's ranks in the Call to Arms and Battle for Mithrall Hall, he lost all his family for the drows but his son Beldar. He then went back to Sundabar and tried to run his father's forge, but was not able to do it alone, since his son Beldar moved to Adbar Citadel to start new life.
Delvar then left Sundabar and went south. He fought demons in Baldur's Gate, conspirancies in Luskan, plagues in Neverwinter and a jealous lord in Waterdeep. Thats when he caught a caravan that was going to a place called Cormyr...
