Hello to all who read this.
I have played D&D for many years like many on this server. I remember the time on weekends mostly, sitting around and drinking with my friends with our sheets spread out in front of us. I remember the great and wonderful times we have had, the stories and characters we created, the different campaign modules we were taken through with our trusted DM, and the all around companionship that was shared. I remember people walking by us giving us those looks, but becoming interested enough to ask, and sometimes join for a gaming session. Those days have sadly left, our circle broken due to moving away from one another.
Our group was simplicity at its best. We created a character and took off.... The rules were easy to follow, and our trusted DM, though greatly cared for, was hard as a bed of rocks to sway. That was actually some of the fun with the game, trying to reason out what we can and can't do while pushing for any advantage we could to gain just a little favor with him. It was not until I met this group of friends that everything really started to make sense and get my interest in this game.
We each created a character, that was Single class, and you could only take skill points open to your class. There was no cross classing, multi-classing, prestige classing with our group. Everyone had a purpose, and everyone depended on each other to get the job done. If we did not have our rogue, then you took a chance on the item in the chest being broken or damaged, depending on how the chest was broken into. If you did not have a wizard, well....run from anything that can affect your mind. One of the hardest problems we faced during our campaigns was the weapons and armor. If you wanted something, you either had to find it from loot, or have it made. This included scrolls, wands, enchanted items, any kind of potions...everything, NOTHING IS BOUGHT IN STORES, cause most of the loot is taken up for materials, and yes, magi had to search for components.
That being said, I wonder if any others miss this and would perhaps like to join in and create another character to play with a specific group at designated times. If you do, then please reply here and we can debate what can happen in this new campaign as opposed with the Server set up.
