*a figure walks the woods of Mist, his easy glide passing along unhindered by the brush. his steps are surefooted, graceful, and with even stride. an agitated panther walks beside him, swollen of belly. her eyes wild of pain and discomfort. she issues forth low growls in her throat. the pair stop for a time, the elf standing to the side watching calmly the suffering the panther endures. while the panther drinks from a stream, the elven words flow softly and calmly as he speaks "We arrive soon, be at peace a while longer." the panther once filled resumes her walk along side the elf. Slow and steady they make their way deeper within.
A small dragon breaths fire on the stones surrounding a small notch in the terrain, scattering insects and killing snakes that once resided there. a few small animals have been maimed, yet still live. a hole has been dug with a trail leading to a nearby stream to fill the hole with water. instructed to secure a little cove away from dangers and provide provisions, the dragons task is almost complete. he returned once he found it passing on the location to the pair. he darts about searching the area from time to time while gathering debris, leaves, and grasses. packing them within.
about a half day behind, the pair proceed to their destination. stopping a few times to drink, and allowing the panther time to eat. he assists with the hunting in some ways. he considers his reasoning behind aiding, resolved that no harm was done and that it is alright. The pair make their way along, uneventful save for the panthers growls and hunting expeditions. the carcass of the animal in tow locked within her jaws.
As they approach, the dragon upon hearing noise darts in their direction to see the cause. realizing who, he issues forth a small roar acknowledging their presence, returning to complete his task. stepping aside as the panther makes her way within the notch, she arranges herself to comfort. the soft elven words escape him "The time draws near". *with that he bends down close to her, stroking her fur with his hand gently probing her swollen belly. reassuring her that she is well, and he is her companion. with her calm restored from her efforts of labor, he goes in closer to her, wrapping his arms about her neck, removing the cord around it, and the blue gem dangling from it. "May you thrive in your new home" with finality in his voice he pushes to his feet. releasing her from the bond provided by Rillifane and the Seldarine.
walking off, he looks to the dragon who in turn spouts a flame into the air as it quickly flies to the trees, taking perch upon the branches to watch over the next few weeks. The elven figure walks on saddened , making his way once more. reviewing the parchment held within his vest, purpose in his task. He looks back to the panther which watches him go. a slight dip of his head to her as he turns on his heels leaving her behind, wishing her success, offering up a prayer to all those of Nature. knowing this is for the best, and regretting the loss of her presence. his response is shortly lived, issued in the form of a loud, powerful, commanding roar, that is challenging to others around her, claiming ownership of her new home, and her intention to defend it from any and all.*
