Gideon Fax Age: Unknown, but he appears to be in his early thirties. Height: 5' 9" Gait: Quite lithe but always of good, proper posture. Eyes: Warm blue. Hair: Black. Looks: He is handsome, not strikingly so, but he is clearly aware of it. Hailing from Waterdeep, Fax is on a one way, blinkered march to power. Where better to find this power, both magical and political than in war torn Cormyr? "Power corrupts. Absolute power on the other hand..." "Isn't having an Adventuring Charter a wonderful thing? The doors it can open. The riches it can unravel. The experiments you can carry out! And to think that it's all under the watchful eye of the letter of the law. Marvellous!"

Journal entry -
26th Uktar 1382:
My dearest Evelyn,
I have been tending the shrine to Siamorphe with flowers. It is pleasing to get my hands dirty once in a while and treat the area as I once did the garden of our home. I planted your favourite roses of red, yellow and that deep royal blue you are so fond of. I hope that you get to see them and enjoy their fragrances.
Language studies have been temporarily neglected to accommodate matters arcane. In this regard I believe I have met the requirements I set to avail myself an employed bodyguard and may now ponder the vanity of an apprentice. I have a full three months to better prepare myself for the next contract and mitigate the impending twists that are to be expected.
The recent trip to the Gardens of Kelemvor with Lord Shamoke afforded me a new perspective on both my ability as an arcanist and that of a leader of men. I fully believe that in time I can be that which Arabel needs, even if the common man never knows of my deeds. Siamorphe demands the sacrifice of time and effort that the people under my watch may live a better, more fruitful life. With the efforts recently made to the north, west and east of the town I sit satisfied my current duty is done. I am under no illusion that this task is never ending and one I strive to uphold. I believe that Shamoke and I are opposite sides of the same coin. We both strive to do the best for the land only we see the task done via vastly different means. Were you here I would not let you within thirty yards of the rascal, though I imagine you would take a shine to him as so many of the fairer sex do.
Hiding mine better efforts to satisfy Jartael from anyone else has been relatively easy, though I believe there are several among my current travelling companions whom can withstand the truth of my pact. While my use of necromancy to meet the ends of justification is not uncommon knowledge, the extent to which I push this ability remains unseen. Combined with the needs to provide two more contracts before this year's end may require a more drastic measure, but I believe that this quota should be attained within two tendays.
In one such instance I shall try to obtain the signature of a foul Banite by means of domination and deceit. The spirit of the contract shall be upheld, though as I hold Banites in the lowest of contempt for life I shall use invisible ink and merely have the sap sign acknowledgement of aforementioned domination. My determination for the utter destruction of Bane and his cohorts has ne'er waned. Fortunately I am in a position wherein our wrath may be fully wrought and that vengeance will be measured slowly. Should this effort work I shall milk the Zhentarim dry and see that as few of his followers ever get to see him after their inevitable and agonizing deaths.
As for the other, I have found a non devotee homeless vagabond in Suzail that I shall attempt to make a contributing member of Arabel's society. Siamorphe affords me the requirement of bettering my hold, but does not hold me to task for what happens to a man after that life is spent. I will ensure his days are spent in comfort.
Profits are up, as you should expect. Trading of table wines and ale have been excellent, as was expected. Exporting to Waterdeep with a fresh label and exploiting the affable trends of several houses has made more than double I expected. Remember that the value of an item has nothing to do with its base price. Any item is worth exactly what someone believes it is worth. Being fair to the local vinyards, the wine is decent. Coal trading to Suzail is a minor income, but smiths and households are need and I dutifully supply. Luckily Orcs seem not to care for coal and only one wagon has been attacked. After paying a visit to the nearest tribe and reprimanding their chief the new chief was more amenable to my requests. I made sure to fly a flag denoting coal on the trains and they have been left alone since. With sincerity I doubt they have the capacity to use it anyway and only raid for its own sake. I have not expanded into the equine trade or mercenary training as both require deeds and land. I have as yet been unable to secure either, but a measure of grace from Tymora for my efforts one day I hope to see it come to fruition.
Lastly, as you approach your thirty fifth year I should be open, honest and treat you like the adult you are. Miss Eviliir, an elf whose spirit you would enjoy, made comment to my asexuality. An interesting, if meaningless observation. And yet I find it provoking my vanity. It has, after all, been thirty years now. That said, should I endorse the affection of another, please recognise my deepest love and admiration for your mother. None shall ever take the place the two of you have secured in both my heart and soul. Your mother and I both had our paramours throughout our marriage and that understanding never brooked jealousy from either of us.
I pledge eternal that I will see you again and us three shall be together.
As ever I remain your humble and obedient servant from this day 'til my last.
Your doting Father.

For the few who have seen Gideon outside of his working commitments and service to Siamorphe, he can be quite the relaxed and warm drinking companion or dinner date. Lately he has been quite busy, however. Working the kinks out of his first cantrip - Fax's Convenient Clothing, he has been seen in Greatgaunt fiddling with gems and using the fluidity of light to change his coat colour, too. A name has not been given to this technique yet, but it appears to be more powerful than the cantrip, using first circle magics.
The Illusionist appears dedicated to his craft.
He has also been seen whittling a sign in hopes of teaching languages and his unusual and perhaps frivolous arcane methods to willing students.
