They say that the grandest of tales do not have to start at the beginning; reasonings of the protagonists should be revealed as the narrative flows. I am not saying that this will be a grand tale as it has only just begun but I will wait awhile before I unfold my story and explain what led to the start of my journey.
I left my homeland of Darromer, in Tethyr, at the beginning of Elient in 1379 DR, ten years after started service to court of Queen Zaranda Star. I took passage with the merchant train that headed north through Amn, earning my keep as a baggage guard during the day and entertaining the travellers with my Yarting in the evening. To travel through a land that has been in conflict with your home is unsettling but with the blessing of Siamorphe the journey was uneventful and, at times, pleasant. It made a change to be away from the court life of Faerntarn and out into the fresh air. The merchants with their 'finagling' reminded me of nobles evading payment of taxes from their baronys due to the crown.
When the train neared the border of Cormyr I took my leave to register at an outpost and begin my time as an adventurer.
I am now weary, wined and blooded and so I shall look to sleep and continue tomorrow. I pray that Siamorphe saves me from the memories of the horrors I encountered upon arrival in Greatgaunt until I wake.
