Wurek Penchant and his family have lived in a farm just outside of Valkur's Roar since his grandfather bought the land. His sisters and brothers work on the farm, while Wurek himself has taken on the oaths of a paladin to protect the kingdom. His younger sister, Angela Penchant, is captivated by the stories of The Ace of Blades. She runs around declaring herself the Ace while wielding a stick and chasing her brothers around, proclaming shes the Ace herself and her brothers are orcs or goblins or somesuch thing. She even has a doll of the Ace. Tho very protective of his sister, Wurek cannot deny her the dream that she has of being a hero. Specially since he is the first person in his family to take up arms to protect Cormyr.
He still lives in his parents' farm, and is quite active around Greatgaunt to Shallybrook, where he often patrols the roads. His face is tattooed with blue markings, he calls it his Death Mask, a symbol of his commitment and resolve to fight to the death to protect those in need. As if to say he already accepts his death in his duty to protect goodness in all its form. He carrys a shield with his family's crest on it, and wields the blade The Light of The Night, whom he has inscribed his family's name on the pommel, as if to pass it on in case of his ultimate death.
He is fearless, not courageous, it is not a virtue but a different state of mind. Ever loyal to the kingdom and its inhabitants, he is sometimes at odds with the authorities over the evil influences around the kingdom, but in particular Valkur's Roar. He greatly enjoys the many bards of the lands, and frequently makes visits to any inns hosting such performances.
He is very proud of being able to wield a sword in defense of goodness, often saying that it is more than most have. A chance, just a mere opportunity to be able to stand up to evil, to live and die in the service of others. He tithes to any faith he deems part of goodness in need of help. He follows no particular Order or group, saying that he can do more without the constrictions of someone else's laws. Though lawful in nature, he is not beyond breaking laws he does not find fitting into his worldview, and will actively go agaisnt laws that put the meek at risk.
He is commonly found in Valkur's Roar, where he lives. Not an easy man to go on trusting others, but he has found true friendship from amongst one of the many elves in the kingdom, taking one of many oaths to protect and defend his friend or friends. He speaks no lies, but is able to keep the truth to himself as if to not run the risk. He wants nothing more than to be the hero he has always read about, to be one of those who saves lives and families. One might call him an honorable man, but he himself will admit to not knowing what honor means. He sees personal sacrifice greater than that notion, greater than any notion.
