Over the course of a few rides, word of mouth spreads various details through the more wealthy of associations regarding invitations sent out to noble houses across the region, from northern Arabel to south across the Dragonmere in Westgate. Actual invitations are slow to surface to the public, but rumors point towards a large religious event of some nature.
And then a few invitations finally make it into public view for those that might know where to ask. The names of those addressed on these invitations have been removed. It's likely easily noticed that no date is given for the event.

Hail Cormytes!
The Black Ball is a player event sponsored by Ladyfrost. The event will be held on Saturday August 22nd at 6 PM US Central Time, 4 PM US Pacific Time, and Midnight London time.
The Black Ball is a formal social event. Please attend in proper attire. The ball is also a masquerade so characters are encouraged to attend in disguise as well.
The Black Ball may be attended by invitation only. If your character has not received an invitation yet but would like one, please contact Ladyfrost with your request.
If you do not have a character that you think would receive an invitation but would still like to participate, players may create new characters to participate. Please contact Ladyfrost about the new character's request.
Please do not metagame any information about the Black Ball between characters. For those attending with alternate characters, please remember that the character you play will be the one to share in the Black Ball experience. Other alternate characters you have will not have knowledge of what takes place at the Ball unless they are told in game by characters played by other players.
Players having characters associated with the faiths below are encouraged to contact Ladyfrost with a request to conduct activities and represent the character's faith at the Ball.
See you there and have fun!
Asmodeus
Cyric/Leira
Talos
Beshaba
Loviatar
Umberlee
Malar
Talona
Gargauth
Hoar
Please send me a PM if you don't want to respond publically. Thanks.
The point of the Gargoyle and Ash Island was never meant to be a hidden guild hall nobody sees. It was meant to host events in various fashions as well, so please feel free to ask to come. We'd like people to show up.
Thanks
Faithful of other gods are more than welcome. Anyone that would find paying respects to portfolios of these gods would likely be invited. For example, Mask is not portrayed but most faithful of Mask would probably want to show respect for many of these gods. Umberlee would probably be respected by most any seafaring persons, especially pirates. Most of these gods are ones that everyone would pay respects to at least on some occasion. Zoe, for example, loathes Talona, but a plague on an island is not good, hence the representation. There will be some nobles and other NPC's that will hopefully show up as well.
Hopefully, that explains it a bit better.

For the Black Ball event at the Gargoyle, many faiths are going to be represented and I'm looking to find devout PC's to oversee each faith at the ball. If you have a devout PC (clergy would be best, but not required) for the following faiths, please PM me if you're interested in being a part of the event. A date hasn't been set yet, but I'll let you know when one has been; it'll likely be a Saturday evening, US time. It doesn't matter what level you are, and if you wanted to create a new PC strictly for this, you're welcome to. To be clear, these PC's are only helping at the event, they are not joining the guild. The ball is a masquerade event so your PC can dress up to hide their identity if they wish.

The Black Ball event at the Gargoyle will be on the 22nd. It will start around 4pm Pacific and continue on until every's had enough. Based on the faiths above if you think you have a PC that would be interested in paying respects to these gods, please let me know and Zoe will work on getting you an invitation. If you don't, but you'd still like to come, you're welcome to create a new character and receive an invitation. This could even be a new character to represent one of the faiths. So far, most of the faiths still need someone to represent them.

To be clear... These are the only faiths that will be represented with a small dedicated area where they will have some sort of way to participate in the faith and tithe. For example, Loviatar, may be represented with a private area where you can "be punished" or do the punishing yourself, whatever the fetish is. Cyric/Leira may have some game of deception and intrigue.

Almost all faithful are welcome to participate. Goodly aligned PC's are less likely enjoy the festivities, of course, and wouldn't likely be invited. I only need a representative from each of the above churches to help run the event for that faith. Otherwise faithful from even those not listed and outside the Faerûnian pantheon will be invited. Banites and Sharrans and Maskarrans and Aurilians, and even faithful of monster or drow deities would be welcome if they make their desire to come known. It's not about who you worship, it's about your desire to show respect to these faiths and mingle with other people that wish to also.
