Background
Tallinus Magerus hails from the city of Waterdeep. He is a descendant of a long, line of distinguished mages. From the very time he was born, he was expected to follow in the family tradition of magery. However, while growing up, young Tallinus felt that such a life was a bit too cloistered for his tastes. Wizards seemed to spend too much time locked up in study for the pursuit of their own personal power. Seeing the evils that existed in the world and the pain and suffering that they caused, Tallinus chose instead to become a paladin in the service of Ilmater, much to the disappointment of his family. Upon completion of his paladin training, Tallinus set off to journey through the realms in search of evil to combat and those in need of aid. His wanderings soon led him to the borders of Cormyr whereupon he heard of its current troubles, prompting him to obtain an adventurer's charter so that he might do what he could to assuage the onslaught of woes that had befallen the land.
Profile
Tallinus, or Tallin as he is called by his friends and family, is of slightly above average height with a somewhat lanky build. He usually carries a rather serious expression on his face, though he actually posseses quite a wry sense of humor and a sharp, acerbic wit. He is a bit of a nonconformist and a rebel at times, not always liking to be told what to do. This is due, in fact, partly to his struggle against the path of his upbringing. On occasion, this may cause some conflict with his paladin ethos, but it has never been too big a problem that could not be handled. Though proficient with a blade, Tallin prefers the morningstar as his melee weapon of choice. He never uses ranged weapons, however, as a matter of personal honor. Tallin has recently developed a great fondness for Cormyrian Bloodmoon wine. As it is rather expensive, he sees his frequent indulgences as his little vice.
